Abstract

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of conductive terminals and reinforcing members. The insulative housing is provided with a mating surface and a slot recessed from the mating surface and extending in a longitudinal direction. The insulative housing includes two side walls extending along the longitudinal direction and two end walls connecting with opposite ends of the side walls. The conductive terminals are fixed on the insulative housing and include contact portions protruding into the slot and soldering sections extending out of the insulative housing. At least one of the end walls is provided with a groove penetrating the mating surface. The groove penetrates the end wall along the longitudinal direction to communicate with the slot. The reinforcing member includes an end wall portion and a fixing portion fixed to the insulative housing. The end wall portion is accommodated in the groove to form a part of the end wall of the insulative housing, which can effectively increase the the strength of the end wall.
