Abstract

An additive for coated paper which comprises (a) 100 parts by weight of a synthetic resin obtained by reacting a polyamine compound with a polyphenolic epoxy resin and having a nitrogen content of 6 to 16.5 wt.%, (b) 20 to 300 parts by weight of an organic solvent which has an SP value (solubility parameter) of 9.5 to 12.5 and in which the synthetic resin is soluble, (c) 0.1 to 15 parts by weight of a surfactant, and (d) 10 to 100 parts by weight of water; and a composition for coated paper which contains the additive.
