Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide flexible, mesh nonwoven fabric made of fiber, where continuous fibers having a three-dimensional network structure are placed in various directions, are superposed in a multilayered state and are thermally joined on e.g. all surfaces so as to form concave patterns having a specific shape, having high degree of flexibility, fluff binding property and strength, and suitable for clothing. CONSTITUTION: This flexible, mesh nonwoven fabric made of fiber is produced by the following steps: (1) dissolving a thermoplastic polymer in a solvent and performing its flash spinning to form mesh fibers; (2) sucking them downward on a net conveyor to form nonwoven web; (3) subjecting it to hot press with an embossing roll to form partially thermal pressure-welded sheet 7; and (4) subjecting the sheet to softening between an embossing roll 5 having plural projections and an elastic roll 6 to form the objective nonwoven fabric 8 where continuous fibers having a three-dimensional network structure are placed in various directions, are superposed in a multilayered state and are thermally pressure-welded on all surfaces or in a partial, small region over them so as to form concave patterns 2, the both end parts or which have layers having different depths H1 and H2 in its thickness direction and different curvatures R1 and R2 and/or the one end of which goes into the underside of a convex part to form an S shape layer.
