Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition for powder coating compound capable of providing a film having improved heat stability, smoothness, gloss, and physical and chemical strength, obtained by adding a carboxyl group-containing curing agent to a specific epoxy type copolyacrylate.
CONSTITUTION: The desired composition comprising (A) 60W97pts.wt. copolymer having a softening point of 80W150°C and an average molecular weight of 3,000W 30,000, obtained by copolymerizing (i) 5W40pts.wt. 3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl (meth)acrylate, (ii) 0W25pts.wt. glycidyl methacrylate, and other vinyl monomer (mixture) in an amount to give 100pts.wt. total amount, (B) 40W3pts.wt. curing agent, e.g., dodecanoic diacid, etc., having two or more carboxyl group on average per molecule.
