Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the mass productivity of a solar battery and to reduce the cost thereof by sequentially laminating a transparent electrode, an insulating film, a cadmium telluride sintered film and a carbon electrode on a transparent supporting substrate of the side to be irradiated solar light, thereby forming the solar battery. CONSTITUTION:An extremely thin silicon oxide film is covered on a glass substrate coated with a tin oxide film, and a mixture paste containing cadmium powder and tellurium powder of equal mol added with propylene glycol of 20-30wt% is printed with screen thereon. Then, after it is dried, it is filled in a calcining container, is then heated at 550 deg.C for 1hr in a belt furnace containing nitrogen atmosphere, is thus calcined, and the cadmium is thus reacted with the tellurium. A carbon paste containing infinitesimal mount of acceptor impurity is printed on the cadmium telluride sintered film obtained thereafter, is dried, is heat treated at 300 deg.C for 30min in nitrogen, the sintered film is thus converted into P type, and a carbon electrode is mounted thereon. Thus, there can be obtained a solar battery having 11.5% of photoconductive conversion efficiency.
