Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain excellent sealing performance both at rest and in rotation by a method wherein a seal lip which is made from fluorine resin and has a cylindrical surface part and a screw part is brought into contact with the external circumference of a shaft by a spring ring fitted to the external circumference of the seal lip.
CONSTITUTION: To a diaphragm 3 of synthetic rubber inserted into a casing 2 with a reinforced ring 7 is attached the seal lip 4 of fluorine resin provided with a cylindrical surface part 5 and a screw part 6 on the internal surface. A spring ring 9 is fitted on the cylindrical surface 8 provided on the external circumference of the seals lip 4 to bring the seal lip 4 into contact with a shaft 1.
