Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately control the flow rate of discharge, by directly applying the difference between the pressure on the upstream side of an orifice and that on its downstream side to a cam ring against a spring for the cam ring to adjust the position of the cam ring depending on the flow rate.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure difference proportional to the rate of flow in a discharge passage 12 is produced between the upstream and downstream sides of an orifice 13 provided in the passage 12. The pressure on the orifice 13 at the side of a discharge port 10 is transmitted to the first control chamber 23 through a branch passage 25. The pressure on the orifice 13 at the side of an actuator 11 is transmitted to the second control chamber 24. As a result, fluid pressure corresponding to the pressure difference between the upstream and downstream sides of the orifice 13 acts to a cam ring 4 in the direction opposite to that of energizing by a spring 5. The position of the cam ring 4 is thus controlled depending on the quantity of discharge. Since the quantity of discharge is proportional to the rotation of a rotor 3, the quantity of discharge can be accurately regulated.
