Abstract
Description
【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は、吹き付け塗装用スプレーガンの塗料容器に
樹脂製ジャバラを用い、その伸縮製を利用して内部を密
封することにより、塗装機の使用範囲を拡大しようとす
るものである。従来のスプレーガンの塗料容器には、金
属製または樹脂製のものが使用されており容器の蓋には
空気供給用の小穴が明けられています。そのため、スプ
レーガンを傾けたり振ったりすると小穴から塗料が漏れ
る可能性があり、慎重な操作が要求されている。また最
近の塗料は、硬化剤を混合して化学反応により硬化させ
るタイプのものが大半であり、とりわけ自動車補修用の
下塗り塗料{プライマーサフェーサー(以降プラサフと
呼ぶ)}は、速乾性が要求されるため硬化時間が短く設
計されており、硬化剤混合後の可使時間は、外気温度に
もよりますが1時間から2時間が限度であると思われま
す。そのため、下塗り塗装の都度プラサフと硬化剤を調
合し、塗布後は余ったプラサフを廃棄し、スプレーガン
の洗浄を行っているのが現状であります。そこで、プラ
サフの無駄と洗浄作業の手間が、塗装作業を省力化する
上での大きな障害となっています。本発明はその障害を
除くためになされたもので、これを図面において説明す
れば、図3.は従来の一般的なスプレーガンの構成を示
したものであり、図1.図2.は本発明のスプレーガン
の構成を示したものである。また本発明の樹脂製ジャバ
ラ容器(5)の作動を 図3.図4.で説明するとまず
容器に塗料(8)を図4.の斜線の部分まで注入してス
プレーガン本体(1)に取りつける。そして、スプレー
ガンに圧縮空気を流入しスプレーを開始すると容器上部
の空気は吸い出され、図5.のようにジャバラ部分が収
縮し、容器内部は塗料で満たされ塗料と空気との接触は
完全に断たれる。そこで、塗料の硬化は抑制され可使時
間を延長することができる。また、高温多湿時において
は従来の容器の場合、内部に結露が起こり、水分が塗料
に混入し、塗膜の性能を劣化させる恐れがあるが、本発
明の容器を用いれば安心である。また、ジャバラ容器の
下部を手で押し上げ加圧することにより塗料の吐出量を
増すことができるので、高粘度の塗料の塗装も可能であ
る。そして、容器は密封されているので塗料漏れの心配
もなく、どんな角度からの塗装も可能である。そして図
1.図2.に示す接続パイプ(2)に分岐パイプ(3)
と切り替えバルブ(4)を取りつけてあるので塗装が終
わったら切り替えバルブ(4)で流路を変え分岐パイプ
(3)に洗浄用シンナーを注入することにより塗料容器
を取り付けたまま、スプレーガン本体の塗料流路だけを
洗浄することができる。そして再度塗装する時は、バル
ブで流路を元に戻せばよい。この操作を繰り返すことに
より、洗浄作業の手間は大分省くことができる。また、
塗装終了後この塗料を保存したい場合は、図6.に示す
ような空気抜き用の小穴を設けた上部蓋(9)を半分程
締め込み、次にジャバラ容器(5)を押し縮めて内部の
空気を追い出し、最後に上部蓋(9)を完全に締め付け
れば塗料の密封式保存容器としても使用できる。さら
に、ジャバラが塗料の分量に応じて伸縮するので、保管
スペースを少なくできるというのも大きな利点である。
また、この容器は廉価で製作できるため基本的には使い
捨てとし、塗料を廃棄する際は容器ごと捨てられるた
