Description
上記したように、インクジェット印刷システムの開発において解決されるべき種々の課題が依然として存在する。たとえば、そのようなシステムで使用されるインクジェットプリントヘッドには、インクの閉塞及び/またはインクの目詰まりという問題が依然として存在している。インクの閉塞の1つの原因は、プリントヘッド中に気泡として蓄積する過度の空気である。インクがインク槽(インクリザーバ)に格納されているときなどにインクが空気にさらされると、余分な空気がインクに溶け込む。その後におけるプリントヘッドの噴射チャンバからのインク滴の吐出動作によって、インクから余分な空気が放出され、その放出された空気は気泡として蓄積される。それらの気泡は、噴射チャンバからプリントヘッドの他の領域に移動し、そこで、プリントヘッドへのインクの流れ及びプリントヘッド内のインクの流れを遮断する場合がある。
図1は、本開示の1実施形態による、インクジェット印刷システム100として具現化されている流体噴射装置を示す。この実施形態では、流体噴射アセンブリは、流体液滴噴射プリントヘッド114として開示されている。インクジェット印刷システム100は、インクジェットプリントヘッドアセンブリ102、インク供給アセンブリ104、マウンティングアセンブリ106、媒体搬送アセンブリ108、電子プリンタコントローラ110、及び、インクジェット印刷システム100の種々の電気部品に電力を供給する少なくとも1つの電源112を備えている。インクジェットプリントヘッドアセンブリ102は、印刷媒体118に印刷するために、複数のオリフィスまたはノズル116を通してインク滴を印刷媒体118に向けて噴射する少なくとも1つの流体噴射アセンブリ114(プリントヘッド114)を備えている。印刷媒体118を、紙、カード用紙、透明フィルム(OHPフィルムなど)、マイラー(商標)などの任意のタイプの適切なシート状物質やロール材(rollmaterial)とすることができる。典型的には、ノズル116は、インクジェットプリントヘッドアセンブリ102及び印刷媒体118が互いに対して移動しているときに、該ノズル116から適切な順番でインクを吐出させると、文字及び/または記号及び/または他のグラフィックスまたは画像が印刷媒体118に印刷されるように、1以上の列すなわちアレイ(配列)をなすように配置される。
Claims (9)
- 流体再循環チャネルと、
前記流体再循環チャネル内に配置された液滴発生器と、
前記流体再循環チャネルの各端部と流体連絡している流体スロットと、
流体アクチュエーター
を備え、
前記流体アクチュエーターは、前記流体アクチュエーターと前記流体スロットの間に、前記流体再循環チャネルの短い側と長い側が形成されるように、前記流体再循環チャネル内に配置され、かつ、第1の持続時間の間前記流体再循環チャネル内に圧縮性流体変位を生じるように、前記流体再循環チャネルの両方の端部に向けて流体を押しやることができ、及び、前記第1の持続時間より長い第2の持続時間の間前記流体再循環チャネル内に伸張性流体変位を生じるように、前記流体アクチュエーターに向けて流体を引き寄せることができ、これによって、流体流れが、前記流体再循環チャネルの前記短い側から前記長い側に向かう方向に、前記流体スロットから、前記流体再循環チャネル及び前記液滴発生器を通って、前記流体スロットに戻るようにすることからなる、流体噴射装置。
- 前記流体アクチュエーターが圧電流体アクチュエーターであり、前記流体噴射装置が、前記第1の持続時間及び前記第2の持続時間を制御するためのコントローラをさらに備える、請求項1の流体噴射装置。
- 前記第1の持続時間及び前記第2の持続時間を制御するために前記コントローラにおいて実行可能な流れ制御モジュールをさらに備える、請求項2の流体噴射装置。
- 前記方向への流体流れを促進するために、前記流体再循環チャネル内に非可動部品弁をさらに備える、請求項1〜3のいずれかの流体噴射装置。
- 前記流体再循環チャネル内に、液滴の噴射中に流体のブローバックを制御するためのピンチポイントをさらに備える、請求項1〜4のいずれかの流体噴射装置。
- 前記再循環チャネルは、インレットチャネル、アウトレットチャネル、及び接続チャネルを備え、前記インレットチャネルは該インレットチャネルの第1の端部で前記流体スロットに結合され、前記アウトレットチャネルは該アウトレットチャネルの第1の端部で前記流体スロットに結合され、前記接続チャネルは、前記インレットチャネルの第2の端部及び前記アウトレットチャネルの第2の端部に結合され、前記液滴発生器は、前記アウトレットチャネル内に配置されており、前記流体アクチュエーターは、前記インレットチャネル内に配置されている、請求項1〜5のいずれかの流体噴射装置。
- 流体が前記液滴発生器を通って流れるときに、該液滴発生器は、該流体をノズルを通して噴射する、請求項1〜6のいずれかの流体噴射装置。
- 前記流体アクチュエーターは膜を有し、該膜は、前記流体再循環チャネル中へとたわんで、前記圧縮性流体変位を生じさせる、請求項1〜7のいずれかの流体噴射装置。
- 前記流体アクチュエーターは膜を有し、該膜は、前記流体再循環チャネルの外側へとたわんで、前記伸張性流体変位を生じさせる、請求項1〜7のいずれかの流体噴射装置。
