FIG. 3 is a conceptual S diagram showing the operation monitoring of the operation system by the operation monitoring unit. As shown in the figure, when a certain operation system A30 is started, the system A goes into the operation state n (n is an arbitrary integer) of the system A through a plurality of start processing states 1 to n-1. In addition,
The illustrated operation state n is roughly divided into three phases 1 to 3 in order to simplify the explanation. For example, phase 1 is from power-on to the end of the initial test of the system, phase 2 is from the end of the initial test of the system to the completion of booting of the OS, and the phase 3 is from the completion of OS boot to the operation state (completion of application startup).

The operating state of the system at this time can be divided into a plurality of phases (three phases in FIG. 3), and in a state (phases 1 and 2) up to a certain state (phase 3), it is unique to the system A. From a certain state (phase 3) indicates an operating state independent of the system A. For example, various initial settings (phases 1 and 2) specific to the system are performed from the start of the system.
When the initialization is completed, an operating system, application, and the like (phase 3) that do not depend on the system (operate in common) can operate.

By the way, in the operation system A, in case that the start processing is stopped due to some abnormality in the middle of the processing, monitoring is performed from the start of the start of the system A, and the start of the system A is started during the start. When it is desired to detect an abnormality in the processing, the operation of the system A is monitored by using the operation monitoring unit 31 for monitoring the operation as shown in FIG. 2 and performing a recovery operation. The monitoring of the operation is determined to be normal if the operation is completed within the monitoring time, and is determined to be an abnormal operation if the operation is not completed within the monitoring time. The monitoring time is
The time is set in accordance with the operation time in each phase, and is set in consideration of an allowable time in addition to a time required for normal operation. For example, if the required time for phase 1 is 3 minutes, the monitoring time is 5 minutes, if the required time for phase 2 is 2 minutes, the monitoring time is 3 minutes, and the required time for phase 3 is 1
If it is minutes, set the monitoring time to 2 minutes.

Normally, as shown in FIG. 3, the start and end of the operation state of the system A in a specific procedure are recognized by the state recognition means 21 in the operation monitoring unit 31, and the operation monitoring means 22 starts the operation. The monitoring is started from and the monitoring is stopped when the operation is completed within the monitoring time. Therefore, in the system A, when the operation ends normally within the monitoring time,
Recognition of the start and end is performed normally, and the system enters the operation state. When an abnormality occurs, the operation does not end within the monitoring time, and the end cannot be recognized. Therefore, the recovery operation by the recovery operation means 23 is performed, and the system can be recovered.

However, as shown in FIG. 4, there is a problem when the above-mentioned operation monitoring unit 31 is used in a system B different from the system A. Regarding the state from the start-up to a certain state, which is an operation state unique to the system B (corresponding to the above-described phases 1 and 2), the operation monitoring unit 31 cannot normally recognize the state because the system is different. Erroneously determines that an abnormal state has occurred in a certain state even during normal operation, and performs a system recovery operation even though system B is operating normally. There is. Example described above (Phase 1: Required time 3 minutes, monitoring time 5 minutes Phase 2: Required time 2 minutes, monitoring time 3 minutes Phase 3: Required time 1
Minutes, the monitoring time is 2 minutes), the operation monitoring unit 31 starts monitoring from the phase 1 of the system B, and terminates the phase 2 during the normal operation of the system B (5 minutes from the start of the operation).
), The operation monitoring unit 31 that cannot recognize the end of the phase 1 (monitoring time 5 minutes) performs the recovery operation. It should be noted that the termination of the operating system and the application independent of the system (corresponding to the termination of the phase 3 in the example) can be recognized regardless of the difference between the systems.

First, in the operation monitoring unit 11, the state recognizing unit 1 recognizes the activation of the operation system, stores it in the state storage unit 2, and activates the restoration operation inhibiting unit 5.
(Recovery operation is disabled) and phase 1 monitoring is started at the set monitoring time. (This is because the recovery operation is performed even if the system A becomes abnormal before the notification of the start of phase 1) The operation in this case is the same as the case where the operation monitoring unit 11 is applied to the system B described later).

Next, in the case of the system A, at the start of the phase, the operation monitoring unit 11 is notified that the operation system 10 has started the phase. The state recognizing means 1 recognizing this stores the operation system 10 in the state storage means 2.
Stores the start of the phase, sets the recovery operation inhibiting means 5 to invalid (recovery operation is enabled), and monitors the operation of the operation system 10 for the set monitoring time. Also,
At the end of the phase, the operation system 10 notifies the operation monitoring unit 11 that the operation system 10 has completed the phase. The state recognizing unit 1 that recognizes this stores the fact that the operation system 10 has completed the phase in the state storage unit 2, sets the recovery operation inhibiting unit 5 to valid (restores the recovery operation), and ends the monitoring. .

In the system B, since the state recognizing means 1 cannot recognize the start and end of the phase, the operation monitoring means 3 detects an abnormality in the phase 1 and notifies the recovery operation means 4 of the start of the recovery operation. However, since the recovery operation inhibiting means 5 is valid (the recovery operation is invalid), the state storage means 2 stores the data as if the next phase had started. Thereby, the operation monitoring of the next phase is performed.
The monitoring is repeated in this manner, and when the state recognizing means 1 recognizes the end of the last monitoring (in the above example, the end of phase 3 independent of the system), the end is stored in the state storage means 2 and the recovery is performed. Enables operation suppression means 5 (invalid recovery operation)

In the system A, when the start of the phase 1 is recognized by the state recognizing means 1, it is stored in the state storage means 2, and the restoring operation inhibiting means 5 is set to invalid (restoring operation is valid). The monitoring is performed at the monitoring time that is set. However, when the operation system 10 becomes abnormal in the phase 1, the end notification of the phase 1 is not performed even if the monitoring time of the phase 1 elapses. Therefore, the recovery operation is started by the recovery operation means 4 after the monitoring time (5 minutes in the above example) elapses. At this time, the recovery operation suppressing means 5

In the system B, the operation is performed as if it were normal. However, since the abnormality occurred in the phase 1, the last monitoring end (in the above example, the end of the phase 3 independent of the system) is performed. As described above, according to the present invention,
The operation monitoring unit is provided with state storage means and recovery operation suppression means. If recovery operation is suppressed, monitoring of the next phase is started automatically, and recovery operation suppression is always performed at the start of the last monitoring phase. By implementing the function to disable the means (enable the recovery operation), even if the operation monitoring unit is used for another system with a different monitoring method, the recovery operation will not be performed during the normal operation of the system .
