Abstract

962,583. Lamp holders. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. July 25, 1962 [Oct. 16, 1961], No. 37037/61. Heading H2E. A socket for an electric lamp comprises a body 1, provided with bayonet slots 3, and a spring- loaded insulating plate 6 carrying contacts 8 having tail-pieces 7 which project through the rear plate of the body 4 and form connecting portions 9. The rear plate of the body 4 is made of insulating material and is attached to the body by lugs 5 and the plate 6 is spring- loaded by the compression spring 10 mounted between the plates 4 and 6. The connecting portions 9 may be rings, as shown, or may be in the form of tabs on to which wire connectors may be pushed and may also be separated by an insulating barrier 12, 13.
