Abstract

908,815. Direct connections between conductors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., COLLINS, L., and TAYLOR, D. P. March 22, 1961 [March 30, 1960], No. 11231/60. Class 38 (1). A wire 1 is forced into electrical contact with a longitudinally-extending surface of a tapered brass terminal 2, by the forcing thereover of a tapered copper sleeve 4 by means of a flange 6. The terminal may be rectangular in cross-section with the edges 5 undergoing mutual deformation with the contacting portions of the sleeve to give further electrical contact between the terminal and wire through the sleeve. The contacting portion of the wire may be U-shaped and fit in grooves in the end or sides of the terminal.
