Abstract

530,297. Conduits. COMPRESSED RUBBER PRODUCTS, Ltd., FAWKES, W. H., and GURDEN, J. A. June 21, 1939, No. 18080. [Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A protective casing for flexible cables or pipes comprises a rubber strip 1 having a flat under surface 3 for application to a floor or wall and having a longitudinal channel or passage 2 for receiving the cable or pipe 6. To allow insertion of the cable or pipe in the channel 2, the latter opens into the under surface of the strip either directly or, as shown, indirectly through a narrow slot or slit 4. The channel may be sealed by a strip of adhesive tape 7, or the slit may be inclined and tangential to the passage and be self-sealing. The under surface of the strip 1 may be formed at intervals with suction cups whereby the casing may be secured to a floor.
