Abstract

391,357. Grinding lathe &c. tools. SCHIESS-DEFRIES AKT.-GES., 114, K÷lnerstrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Aug. 23, 1932, No. 23627. Convention date, Sept. 7, 1931. [Class 60.] The groove in a lathe &c. tool 12 is grooved by means of a grinding-wheel 11 carried by a slide 3 reciprocating in a frame 1, the tool 12 being rigidly clamped during grinding. In order that the width of the groove may be varied, the grinding-wheel 11 is carried by a spindle 6 mounted in a casing 9 rotatably adjustable, by means of an annular groove 10, about the axis of a spindle 2 carried by the slide, and driving the spindle 6 through bevel gearing 4, 5 ; by rotation of the casing 9, the groove may be broadened to correspond to the angular setting of the grinding-wheel, as shown in Fig. 2.
