Abstract

Materials, fibrous; pulp, adding special substances to.-Tobacco, tobacco stalk, offal, or refuse, or a mixture of these is softened by known methods, reduced to pulp, and kneaded or refined until the fibres are considerably shortened in length and preferably reduced to a length of about 1 mm. The pulp is made into sheets of the thickness of paper or cardboard or into slabs, which may be cut or shredded and mixed with ordinary tobacco. A 33 per cent solution of acetic acid may be added to the pulp for preservative purposes. Specifications 25830/02, 4981/05, and 25478/11 are referred to.
