Abstract

Loom loose-reed motions.-In looms for weaving looped or terry towel fabrics, the position of the reed 2 is controlled positively by means of seg ment-wheels 14, 15, brought into action by the dobby or other suitable mechanism and operating in connection with an incline 28 on a lever 22 and a bowl 34 on a lever 33. The segment-wheel 9, which operates the wheels 14, 15, is shifted from one to the other on its shaft 10, and the wheels 14, 15 are connected to the lever 22 by rods 24, 23 and lever arms 25, 26. The motion of the lever 22 is limited by stops 30, 31, and the lever 33 is provided with the regulating-screws 6, 7 and spring 8 for operating the lever 3, as described in Specification No. 11,281, A.D. 1896.
