Abstract

162,197. Davis, C. May 14, 1920. Packing soap, etc.; unpacking.- Relates to packages of the kind in which the articles or their containers are secured to a band in which they are wrapped and which can be opened out for displaying, and consists in forming recesses in the band and projections on the articles &c. to fit the recesses, or vice versa. As shown, a band 1 of cardboard, cloth, stout paper &c. carries panels 2, 3, 4 having apertures 5 adapted to co-operate with corresponding projections on the articles to be wrapped or the containers 12 therefor. In one form, the centre panel of three is of less width than the others, so that the containers may be folded up as shown in Fig. 4, tabs 8, 10 being inserted into a slit 11 to secure the package and a tab 9 being left outside for unpacking. The containers may be rotated in respect of the band as shown in Fig. 3. The containers may have transparent panels 14. The recesses may be rectangular, octagonal, &c.
