Abstract

1358345 Thermal insulation JOHNSMANVILLE CORP 29 March 1972 [1 April 1971] 14604/72 Heading F2X A thermal insulating material primarily for use on the interior of buildings is formed of a blanket 24 of bonded fibres (e.g. glass fibres) having a moisture impervious flexible facing on one side both for appearance and for defining a vapour barrier. The facing includes a narrow edge strip extending beyond a margin of the fibre blanket, and defining a tab 60 for overlapping and sealing a joint with an adjacent blanket. The tab 60 is protected during handling of the material when this is wrapped in a roll 28 by means of a disposable edge strip 54 which is partially severed from the main body 52 of the material. The strip 54 is removed by pulling it, as shown, from its position adjacent the main body 52 prior to the installation of the insulating material.
