[Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions, having tranquilizing and, in some instances, antidepressant and analgesic properties, comprise a compound of formula I: in which X is oxygen or sulphur, one of R 1 and R 2 is H, C 1-6 alkyl, C 1-6 alkoxy, halogen or trifluoromethyl and the other of R 1 and R 2 is H, C 1-6 alkoxy or halogen, Y is hydroxy, amino, C 1-6 alkylamino, di-(C 1-6 alkyl) amino, 1-piperazinyl, 4-C 1-6 alkyl-1-piperazinyl, 4-hydroxy-C 1-6 alkyl-1-piperazinyl, pyrrolidino, C 1-6 alkyl-pyrrolidino, piperidino, C 1-6 alkyl piperidino, morpholino or C 1-6 alkyl morpholino, R is C 1-6 alkyl, and n is 2, 3 or 4; or the -N(R)- C n H n -Y group taken together represents 1- piperazinyl; 4-C 1-6 alkyl-1-piperazinyl or 4- hydroxy-C 1-6 alkyl-1-piperazinyl, together with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier. The compositions may be administered orally, e.g. in the form of tablets, capsules, dragees, drops, emulsions, suspensions and syrups, and in chocolate, candy or chewing gum, or parenterally in the form of aqueous solutions.
