Abstract

Plant consists of a device for forming a mat of mineral wadding, longitudinal and transversal cutting knives, a conveyor for the continuous advancing mat carrying it on to subsequent treatment, a mixer equipped with a feed duct bringing in pulp to the forming conveyor, a preforming device and a heat treatment chamber. The feed duct of the mixer has a bell mouth, the dia. of which corresponds to the width of the mat to be formed. This bell mouth is connected to the preforming device which is made of an endless belt placed above the forming conveyor with a gap corresponding to the thickness of the mat to be formed. The transporting conveyor can be rotated or pivoted in the vertical plane., and is equipped with a command block which allows the cutters to rest while the conveyor rotates to its lowest position and displaces the mixer with its duct to one side to allow direct advancement of the mat to the heat treatment chamber.
