Abstract
Partial or total demineralization is obtd. by using a system in which a weakly acid cationic exchanger in its Na form which removes such as Mg and Ca, followed by a strongly acid cationic exchanger in its H form which removes Na, and then by a weakly basic anionic exchanger in its OH form which removes such as Cl- and SO4. H2SO4 is used for regenerating the cationic exchangers, and Na2CO3 for the anionic exchanger. The use of the weakly acid exchanger increases the capacity of the system.
