Abstract

A dispensing opening can be formed on the upper end face (6, 7) of the package by tearing off a strip (13) and a tab (8). This dispensing opening is normally closed from the inside by a lateral end flap (5). By pressure from the outside at the side of the dispensing opening, the end flap (5) can be swivelled inwards, by which means the dispensing opening becomes free. The package can be produced from lightweight, inexpensive material in a virtually conventional basic design and a reliable, reclosable removal device is achieved. In the original state, the package has a tamper-proof closure, in that the contents of the package only become accessible after the tear-off strip (13) and the tear-off tab (8) have been torn off. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to packaging with a reclosable dispensing opening. Known packagings of this type either have closure slides (US Patents 4,081,128 and 4,094,456), or parts of the packaging wall can be elastically deformed by pressing against certain points on the packaging such that a dispensing opening is created (US Pat. Nos. 4,356,951 and EP-A -0 121 040). In the first case, special sliding end tongues must be installed, which in any case leads to a cumbersome, complex construction and correspondingly complex special tools for the production. In the second case, complex special constructions and corresponding special tools are required for production. In addition, it is difficult to carry out such packaging with an effective guarantee closure, which clearly shows unauthorized opening and reclosing of the package. In order to ensure reliable, repeated opening and closing of the packaging, high-quality cardboard must be used, which further increases the effort.

The present invention has for its object to achieve a significant simplification compared to the known. This object is achieved according to the characterizing part of claim 1. As a closing flap, an already existing flap that can be freely pivoted in on one side and is connected to a packaging side on an end face of the packaging can be used. There is therefore no need to make any fundamental changes to the packaging or the tool used to manufacture the same. The dispensing opening on the original packaging can be closed off by tear-open strips or rags, whereby an effective guarantee closure is easily achieved. The inside against the end closing flap is pressed against the dispensing opening by the contents of the package if the packaging is inadvertently tilted, so that a secure closure is ensured in all cases even when using relatively cheap cardboard without high elasticity.

The invention will now be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment which is illustrated in the drawing.
  • FIG. 1 shows the packaging shortly before the end face is closed, with the dispensing opening and the closure flap,
  • FIG. 2 shows the packaging in the closed, original condition,
  • FIG. 3 shows the packaging after the guarantee closure has been torn open, and
  • Figure 4 shows a section through the output device of the packaging.

The cardboard packaging shown has a packaging jacket with two opposite broad sides 1 and two opposite narrow sides 2. The packaging jacket is glued along one edge by means of a tongue 3. The upper end face of the packaging shown in the drawing has two inner flaps 5 connected to the narrow sides 2 via a folding groove 4, each with one of the narrow sides 2, via which outer end flaps 6 and 7 connected to the broad sides 1 engage. In the inner front flap 6, a rectangular material flap 8 is cut free by C-shaped cuts 9, which can be torn out along material bridges 10. In the outer frontal lobe 7 is a line of intersection 11 and lines of weakness 12 a tear strip 13 is formed. When the illustrated end face of the packaging is closed from the stage shown in FIG. 1 to the closed stage according to FIG. 2, the outer end flap 7 is folded onto the inner end flap 6 and glued to it, while the material flap 8 is glued to the tear strip 13 . As can be clearly seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the edges 14 of the front flaps 6 and 7 are set back inwards with respect to the outer edge of the tear strip 13 or with respect to the folding groove 4, which on the one hand means that when the packaging is closed according to FIG. slightly protruding end of the tear strip 13 facilitates and on the other hand offers advantages for the subsequent actuation of the dispensing device of the packaging, which will be explained immediately.

To open the packaging closed according to FIG. 2, the tear strip 13 is gripped at its outer, slightly protruding end and torn out at the top. At the same time, the tab 8 of the inner end flap 6 connected to the tear strip 13 is also torn out, thus creating an outlet opening 15 through the two end flaps 6 and 7 according to FIG. 3. However, this dispensing opening is still closed by the closure flap 5, which is pressed elastically from the inside against the inner end flap 6. To remove the packaging contents, preferably free-flowing or small-sized packaging contents, the packaging is grasped and pressed with a finger in the direction of one of the arrows in FIGS. 3 and 4 to the side of the dispensing opening 15 against the end face of the packaging. The end faces 6 and 7 are thus pressed inward elastically, as indicated in FIG. 4, and they now press with their recessed edge 14 somewhat inside the packaging side 2 against the closure flap 5, which is thus pivoted inward according to FIG. 4. In order to The contents of the packaging can now be poured out through the dispensing opening 15. If you then tilt the packaging back and remove the pressure against the end face, both the front flaps 6 and 7 and the closure flap 5 elastically return to the original position, so that the packaging is reliably closed again. Even if the elasticity of the packaging parts deformed during the removal of the packaging content slows down somewhat over time and the closure flap 5 no longer fully retracts under the elasticity of the folding groove 4 and closes the dispensing opening, it would in the event of the packaging falling over or being inadvertently tilted by the pressure from the inside of the packaging contents reliably pressed against the discharge opening 15 and would thus result in a reliable conclusion.

It follows from the above that the packaging is very simple to set up and manufacture. The packaging corresponds completely to conventional packaging of this type, with the exception of the tear-open tab 8 and the tear-open strip 13. However, these elements can be produced by a very simple modification of existing tools. Using a practically existing form of packaging, this results not only in a well-functioning reclosable dispensing device, but at the same time a reliable guarantee closure, because it is impossible to access the contents of the package without tearing off the tear strip 13 and the tear tab 8. It can therefore be determined at any time with certainty whether a packaging is still in the closed original condition or has already been opened. Relatively cheap, thin material of low intrinsic elasticity can also be used, which even has the advantage that the deformation of the front flaps 6 and 7 and the pivoting of the closure flap 5 caused thereby is easier to do if the material is not too strong.

While the preferred embodiment described above and shown in the drawing corresponds in structure to a conventional, conventional packaging that does not require additional parts, and in particular without additional material, a somewhat different solution would also be conceivable. One could, for example, connect to the tongue 3 via a folding groove, a tongue lying loosely against the inside of the narrow side 2 lying at the rear in FIG. 1. In the area of this tongue, an outlet opening could be provided in the rear narrow side 2, which can preferably be closed in the original state by a tear strip. After the dispensing opening has been torn open, pressure on the packaging to the side of the dispensing opening could push the closure flap inwards and thus enable the contents of the packaging to be removed.
