Abstract

The present invention relates to a composite element, especially a control panel for motor vehicles, having a core of polyurethane foam, a film, which acts as finish, on one side of the core and a composite element which acts as a support. The state of the art was always prone to a certain number of problems, owing to the relatively high weight of such control panels. The invention remedies this situation in that it devises a composite element which comprises fibres and/or filaments and the like and is especially composed of one or more glass fibre mats, which are advantageously completely permeated by flexible polyurethane foam, which acts as a filling foam. Surprisingly, a composite element of this type nonetheless is sufficiently strong, so that there is no longer any need for the known metal plates with large inherent weights.

Es sei jedoch angemerkt, daß erfindungs­ gemäß das Verbundelement 16 nicht unbedingt aus einer zwei­ lagigen Glasfasermatte 16 bestehen muß, sondern ggf. eine einlagige Glasfasermatte oder dergleichen vorgesehen werden kann. Bei den in Fig. 5 gezeigten geschnitzelten Glasfasern als Verbundelement 16 handelt es sich um Langfasern, die in die offene Form (nicht gezeigt) bei Einsatz bekannter Spritzschaumtechnik unter Verwendung eines Schneidwerkes an der Spritzpistole, eingeschäumt werden.
