Please join us in welcoming Ambassador Erin E. McKee as our new CEO. Ambassador McKee brings over 20 years of diplomatic and development expertise, including her recent role leading USAID's historic $30+ billion humanitarian response to support Ukraine.

What makes this appointment special? Ambassador McKee understands that Nova Ukraine's strength lies in our community-driven foundation and authentic Ukrainian connections. She's committed to building on everything that makes us unique while expanding our capacity for even greater impact.

Her vision: Transform our organization around four pillars - HEAL, BUILD, EMPOWER, and ADVOCATE - ensuring we can respond to immediate needs while building the sustainable partnerships Ukraine needs for the future.

Overnight on August 21, Ukraine faced one of the largest aerial assaults of the war. The air force reported 574 drones and 40 missiles launched by russia, most intercepted, with damage reported in 11 regions.

Homes were damaged in Lviv, and a U.S.-founded electronics facility in Mukachevo saw major destruction to storage buildings with injuries reported. Energy infrastructure was also targeted, including a gas facility.

Ukrainians continue to find resilience in their centuries-old culture and the unwavering unity of their people. At Nova Ukraine, we stand with people of Ukraine.

For those who have endured trauma, war, violence, or displacement, healing begins with safety, compassion, and consistent care.

That’s why the Charitable Foundation Save Ukraine, with support from Nova Ukraine, operates five Hope and Recovery Centers across Ukraine. These centers serve as sanctuaries for vulnerable families and children, including evacuees, displaced persons, orphans, children with disabilities, survivors of sexual violence, and those returned from russian captivity.

In 3 months, these centers have provided:

🔹 740+ psychological consultations
🔹 Ongoing care for 30+ child survivors
🔹 Regular supervision and training to protect mental health professionals from burnout
🔹 Daily support for 40 preschoolers, fostering recovery through play, structure, and group interaction

Doctors and nurses are essential to ensuring access to quality care for all in Ukraine. At Nova Ukraine, we support medical facilities by delivering equipment and medicines, coordinating in kind donations with partners, and packing consumables and first aid kits.

Our support equips medical teams with resources that make a daily difference. Together with our partners Medical Bridges Inc and FIGS, we donated more than 500 sets of medical uniforms to 13 hospitals across Ukraine. Designed for long shifts and demanding conditions, these uniforms make daily work more comfortable and help teams stay focused on what matters most: saving lives.

Ahead of the August 18 meeting in Washington, DC, between President Zelenskyy and former President Trump, Nova Ukraine Board Director Igor Markov spoke with NBC Bay Area about the reality Ukrainians face every day: "People have to protect themselves; there are air raid sirens pretty much every day."

He emphasized that high-level meetings like these underscore how critical international support and steadfast commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty remain.

At Nova Ukraine, we echo that hope through action: supporting displaced families, rebuilding communities, and standing for the safe return of all abducted children.
