This study, it is aimed to determine the factors affecting profitability in participation banks by panel data analysis. Panel data analysis is used by using 5-years of data belong to 2015 and 2019. The internal and external factors affecting the net profit (loss) / total assets dependent variable are evaluated. Results reveal that (1) 1% increase in capital adequacy ratio, which has a significant relationship with return on assets, affects return on assets by 0.13%. (2) 1% increase in the funds used / total assets ratio is effective in return on assets by 2.91%. In terms of findings obtained; the negative impact of the capital adequacy ratio on active profitability might have negatively affected the profitability due to the need to minimize the risk factors, and the negative reflection of the funds used/total assets ratio on the profitability in participation banks; it has been evaluated that the increase in the fund lending rate of participation banks with the increase in non-performing loans might have a negative affect on profitability.

The same set of fraud risk factors that are provided in the appendices both to the International Standards on Auditing 240 and to Turkish Capital Market Board Communique on Auditing constitutes the main body of the questionnaire used in the study. Drawing on a survey of top-level executives of a sample of 70 Istanbul Stock Exchange listed companies, the results reveal that the most important risk factor group is “attitudes/rationalizations”, followed by “opportunities”. The results indicate the importance of wellstructured corporate culture and effective internal controls against misappropriation of assets by employees.

Globalization and the world trade agreement affected the equations in the world trade and disrupt... more Globalization and the world trade agreement affected the equations in the world trade and disrupted the existing trade balances severally. Consequently, the nature of trade environment has changed. Potential failures and risks: deficiencies in banking systems, huge budget deficits, lack of positive investment clime (abnormal LİBOR and Central bank rates), are still exist in the international financial market place. Additionally, market makers and regulators are neglecting the basic financial rules to solve the problem. They were mostly concentrated on lower interest rates and provided cheap finance to the financial sector, which was easing the market conditions but not repairing the conditions in the long term which caused hidden trade wars and interest wars. Extraordinary low rates interest rates results in extraordinary low currency values. However, global trade needs at least one strong reliable currency. In the past, it was US dollars but not now. Decision makers have to gather correct and reliable information to take decisions, but accounting scandals, rating, and accounting firms' controversial and mostly late reports indicate that there are serious doubts about them. During the crises, decision makers, politicians and central banks, pumped liquidation to the markets can be considered as painkilling solution for the financial markets. These solutions have not provided serious progress until now. This study suggests tough and possibly efficient but difficult solutions, like unilateral agreements on international trade and economics, setting of a guaranteed information system, harmonization of accounting and financial reporting standards which would be more appropriate, otherwise, potential new waves of crises are inevitable.

Panel cointegration technique and Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS) and Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS) methods are used in the econometric estimations. FMOLS estimations indicate that one point increase in tertiary education enrollment rate and in the ratio of the health expenditures to GDP increase real GDP per capita by 1.3 percent and 9.9 percent, respectively. In addition, FMOLS results show that one point increase in the ratio of the health expenditures to GDP increases real GDP per capita by 13.1 percent. According to DOLS estimations, similar results are obtained. Once labor productivity is taken as dependent variable in the models, it is concluded that an increase in human capital increases labor productivity in the Balkan countries.

Humankind's creativity contributed to and improved music, arts, and scientific developments. Huma... more Humankind's creativity contributed to and improved music, arts, and scientific developments. Humankind's knowledge, experience, and life quality can be increased with creativity. Creativity increases the opportunities in accounting besides the other occupations in every aspect. Creativity is (and should be) at the center of the educational system for sustainable development. Human beings have traded and produced since ancient times. Trade transactions must be collected, classified, recorded, controlled, and summarized i.e. accounting. Therefore, accounting has become a necessity rather than a fancy choice. Today, even small companies make hundreds and thousands of daily transactions, which requires employing many accountants and consumption for accounting. Accounting activities require processing millions of transactions which require better accounting capabilities and creativity. The success of economic life, financial market, governmental organization, and companies relies on accounting information's correctness, reliability, and relevance. Processing, analyzing, preparing, and using information for decisions related to the future can be called cost and management accounting. Nevertheless, processing costs and management accounting information are complex, and the certainty and predictability are less. The necessity of creativity in accounting education, accounting process, making decisions, and control became prominent. Accounting students and graduates work in a highly complex environment where they have to benefit from science, technology, improvement, and creativity. Accounting processes are required: the ability to collect correct and relevant information (documents), classify these documents, record them, analyze them, make decisions and send feedback, which requires an additional high degree of creativity. Future accountants, business people, and teachers must be more creative and use more creative teaching methods. Today and in the future, accountants and accounting teachers have to be able to improve and adapt more creative teaching methods. So accounting teachers must focus on improving innovative (be creative) teaching methods: examining the teaching methods, philosophes content, and the whole teaching process. Reviewing the literature might lead several accounting bodies to develop and improve more creative accounting teaching methods.
