The paper attempts to enquire critically different characteristics of an organisation from different dimensions like personhood, identity, culture, image etc. Organisational Identity is like a biological identity of a person. But unlike a biological entity, an organisation is a social entity whose identity has to be developed by the stakeholders of the organisation. Then arises the issue of conditionalities of organisational identity. Here the conditionalities have been structured in a pyramidal model. Thus organisation with its characteristics has been critically analysed.

Government is the most formal entity of governance with respect to its citizens. Social balancing also is a process through which a community strives for consistency and understanding within it. The paper is a critical study of the role of government in maintaining social balance in the context of Indian nation-state. There are so many conditionalities of social balancing in a pyramidal structure from the perspective of good governance. Since independence the government authorities at the different levels have been striving to maintain social balance through different citizen-centric policies and programmes. In the 21 st century, particularly in the last decade India has achieved phenomenal socioeconomic growth and development through citizens' participation will the help of e-governance.

The paper has tried to fathom in the intricate relationship between the processes of mothering and managing; to reveal power relationship structures of mothering and managing; and to correlate the issues of work outside home, domestic work-sharing, and family-size with the management process from the organisational point of view. The unit of study has been women in management position. The universe of study has comprised women managers and administrators who have been mothers from few private and public sector business organisations in Kolkata, India. The study has revealed the stressful and straining conditions of mothers in professional life due to dual roles of mothering as well as managing both in private and public life. Mothering being one of the most innate qualities of a woman seems to encompass the roles of managing so naturally. Mother-managers have been trying to make the most out of their professional life to strike a balance between private mother-life and public managerial-life.

Each and every culture provides its own way of understanding and interpretations of reality which connotes to a unique contextual meaning of the social world to its members. Matritva in Indic culture is merely not a concept, but it has been a reality with multi-ramifications in Indian society from time immemorial. Hermeneutics in general refers to analysis, interpretations and understanding of texts, especially religious texts. Modern hermeneutics focus not only on texts but also both on verbal and nonverbal communication as well as semiotics, presuppositions and preunderstandings. ‘Bhashya’ in Sanskrit may be what is meant by hermeneutics in English. Indic culture here refers to the way of life of the people of the Indian subcontinent from the pre-historic time, which has been continuing in a sublime subtle way through the ages. Matritva has been one of the defining characteristics of the Indic culture. Then, the study on motherhood in Indic culture should be particularistic in nature with the emphasis on the feelings of Indian mothers in different social locations and their worldviews entwined with the quest for identity as mothers. The present study has been an attempt to sketch out motherhood in Indic culture from the perspective of hermeneutical circle in respect of the word Matritva with the reciprocity between text and context, which shifts the focus from ‘interpretation’ to ‘existential understanding’ by ‘way of being’ as a mother in the world than merely as ‘a way of knowing’ motherhood.

Care is being institutionalised as a formal system to cater different types of care apart from the most fundamental maternal and parental cares. Thus the process of care has now assumed an important social dimension pertaining to moral, ethical and legal issues. As care is being formalized, care is becoming a commodity as a paid service. National governments all over the world are so much concerned about emerging issues of caregiving processes to ensure human health care to the citizens.

Whatever be the form of care, caring is a process to be analysed, contextualised and managed from different perspectives. Social relations centering care become very specialized in form and content in that the caregiver(s) and care-receiver(s) interact continuously both ways. From the very basic maternal care to parental care to family care and various societal insitutionalised care system operating in human society, care and caring issue have taken a central paradigmatic dimension in the present post-industrial service society.

In an organizational context, empowerment is a process of assigning decision-making authority to executives and employees. The present study has attempted to understand the issues of culture of empowerment from the perspectives of individual attitudes, aspirations and perception of empowerment of employees in a public sector insurance corporation through an intensive micro-level field study. The methodology of the study was based on the primary data collected through structured questionnaire. The findings point to an overall poor level of empowerment of employees. The item-wise analysis of empowerment data has revealed a conflicting picture-a gap between belief and practice in the organization in respect of empowerment processes and practices, thus pointing to a 'revealing' organizational reality. The cadre-wise item-analysis has shown that the managerial personnel have only perceived moderate level of empowerment status. Empowerment, thus, is negligible and it is still in the primitive stage in the organization.

Thus, caring refers to act of care in personal relationships. But in the post-industrial service society, care becomes a formal form of care work in that care-givers become care workers. Now the service society is fast becoming a market society where the processes of commodification and marketization of each and every societal service indicate an economic shift. This economic shift acts as market forces for the development of care work.
Care is primarily a work which may be both formal and informal in nature. In both formal and informal forms care work may remain unpaid. The present paper is attempting to analyze unpaid care work and unpaid care workers both from a social and an institutional perspective.

Now care in research pertains to care of both research as well as subjects/respondents by a researcher(s). From the very beginning of the research questions a researcher should take care of the whole process of the research to be undertaken. Whatever be the nature of subjects- be it inanimate or animate or human beings, a researcher should be careful enough to carry out the research to meet different types of issues and challenges in an ethical way. The issues of ethical way of conducting research are very important which are to be taken care of. In physical and chemical science researches the environmental issues have to be carefully handled by a researcher taking into consideration the environmental degradation and related issues. In biological research care of animals must be ensured by a researcher relating to issues of cruelty. Care of research-subjects in social and behavioural researches is very crucial in that many important issues like identity, unintentional answers etc. of the respondents should be taken care of. Finally, the research outcome should be written and published in a very careful manner so that it follows standard ethical codes.

From the smallest social organisation of a family to the largest socio-political organisation of a state, the issue of governance is all about right decision-making in a right manner. The most formal entity of governance is a government, which is a body having sole responsibility and authority to make binding decisions in a given geo-political system. Thus the issues and challenges of good governance are of paramount importance for the citizens of a state. Then the institution of governance must be so rooted in the dynamics of the Indian society so that all the stakeholders of governance get involved and interact, and make decisions regarding collective issues and create or reinforce social norms and institutions through public participation.

Motherhood is a social reality which is to be visualized, conceptualized and analyzed from different perspectives of social paradigm. The study of motherhood needs to be contextualized. The contextualization of study of motherhood needs the approach of methodological pluralism and various issues therein. Methodological pluralism or epistemological pluralism refers to different ways of knowing things, different methodologies i.e. multi-methodologies for attaining a full description of a particular field. It expresses the view that no social phenomena can be explained by a single theory or fully investigated using a single approach. So, theorizing sociology of motherhood and conceptualizing different concepts of motherhood necessitates multi-methodological approaches to know what motherhood is and motherhood’s multi-ramifications in different societal cultural contexts. The particularistic approach to study motherhood requires specific historical contexts within which mothering takes place, and influenced by different social locations. On the other hand, the universalist approach to motherhood study aims at identifying what mothers do, rather than how they feel. It emphasizes on maternal practices. So, studying and theorizing sociology of motherhood demands methodological pluralism.
