API access is available through the Xamin API, the astroquery Heasarc module, or the Virtual Observatory protocols using pyvo. -
Cloud & Platforms
HEASARC@SciServer is an analysis-ready platform where both data and software are available through the browser.
The HEASARC is also part of the NASA Fornax Initiative to build NASA's next generation cloud-based science platform.
HEASARC data are available in the cloud and on SciServer. -
Software
- HEASoft 6.35.2 is now available.
- HEASoft and XSPEC are available as conda packages.
- HEASoft and other high energy software (CAIO, XMM-SAS, Fermitools, Spex etc) are installed and available on SciServer.

- XRISM AO2 Approved Target List Release (07 Oct 2025)
The list of AO2 approved targets is now publicly available on the XRISM Proposals webpage. For each proposal submitted to NASA in response to the XRISM Cycle 2 call for Type-1 proposals, a detailed email with panel evaluation will be sent at a later stage. - NuSTAR Caldb Update (06 Oct 2025)
The NuSTAR FPM caldb was updated to version 20251006. This release includes a new clock correction file, v215 using a new temperature model. Please see the release notes for more details. - MAXI CALDB updated (01 Oct 2025)
The MAXI CALDB has been updated for the GSC. The GSC CALDB has been updated to version 20250915. - HEASoft 6.36 released (30 Sep 2025)
HEASoft 6.36 has been released. The HEASoft 6.36 release is driven by new and updated mission-specific data analysis software (XRISM, IXPE, MAXI, BurstCube, et al.) and other enhancements and fixes. 6.36 release notes for details. - XRISM Caldb Update (26 Sep 2025)
The XRISM Caldb for the Resolve and XTEND instruments has been updated to version 20250915 (CALDB 12). Tar files can be downloaded from the XRISM Calibration page. - NuSTAR Caldb Update (23 Sep 2025)
