Acta Aquatica: Aquatic Sciences Journal is a scientific open access journal in the field of aquatic sciences, published periodically (April and October) by the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) Universitas Malikussaleh (Malikussaleh University) in cooperation with Marine Center Universitas Malikussaleh, Department of Aquaculture Universitas Malikussaleh and Department of Marine Science Universitas Malikussaleh. Acta aquatica are publish original research, overviews and reviews relating to aquatic environments (wetlands, freshwater and marine waters) and the border limits of these environmental systems and the impacts of human activities on the environmental systems. Acta Aquatica has a related studies in aquatic bioecology, aquaculture, hydrology, biodiversity of aquatic biosphere, oceanology, exploitation and exploration technology of aquatic resources, fisheries product technology, aquatic microbiology, aquatic modeling, aquatic geographic information systems, and socio-economic of aquatic resources.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 9 hari yang bertempat di Laboratorium Hatcheri dan Teknologi Budidaya Universitas Malikussaleh, Aceh Utara,Propinsi Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui pengaruh penambahan bahan pengencer sperma terhadap fertilitas spermatozoa ikan lele dumbo dan memperoleh jenis bahan pengencer yang terbaik dalam pemijahan ikan lele dumbo. Penelitian ini di gunakan metode eksperimen laboratorium yang di gunakan pola rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) non faktorial dengan 4 perlakuan 3 ulangan. Bahan uji yang digunakan adalah spermatozoa ikan lele dumbo, Ovaprim, Akuadest, Susu steril, Air kelapa muda, Larutan Infus/ NaCl. Parameter yang di ukur ialah daya fertilitas telur, derajat penetasan telur, kelangsungan hidup benih. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Aquades sebagai pengencer merupakan bahan yang terbaik dimana fertilitas didapatkan sebesar 98.33 %, derajat penetasan telur sebesar 77.28 %, tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva sebesar 93.44 %. Hasil uji analisis statistik untuk semua parameter uji menunjukkan F hitung dari F Tabel untuk perlakuan Aquades sebagai bahan pengencer. Sementara itu, hasil pengukuran parameter kualitas air seperti suhu 26,07 – 28,15 0C dan pH air 8,67 – 8,95.This research was done for 9 days in Laboratory of Hatchery and Aquaculture Technology Malikussaleh University, North Aceh, Aceh Province. The aim of this research was to know effect of different sperm solutions for effectiveness fertilization rate of Clarias gariepinus. This research used non factorial completely randomized treatment with three replications on each treatments that using aquadest, natural milk, coconut water and NaCl fisiologis as the sperm solutions. The test observed in this research was fertilization rate, hatching rate, and survival rate. Result showed us that the used of aquadest as the sperm solutions got the best goals which was 98,33 % for ferlilization rate, 77,28 % for hatching rate, and 93,44 % for survival rate. Based on statistical analyze also showed that f count f table in 99.99 % level of trust for the first treatment with value 29.417 7.59. Meanwhile the water quality value that measurable during this research was 26.07 – 28.15 0C and 8.67 – 8.95 for pH.

Abstract

The tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) is an economically important fish whose fry still relies on natural catches. Several species of grouper are very potential to be cultivated because of their fast growth, efficient feed conversion, and high selling value. The purpose of this study is growth performance and survival rate tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) used different live feed. The research design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatments 3 replications and continued with LSD test if there were differences. The treatments given are treatment A (Snail), treatment B (Chicken Intestine), and treatment C (Caterpillar Maggot). Parameters observed were length increase, weight gain, survival, feed response, and water quality. The results of this study indicate that the highest increase was found in the treatment of C: 4,04 cm and the lowest was in treatment B: 3 cm, the highest weight gain was found in the treatment of C: 3,73 grams, and the lowest was in treatment B: 2,18 grams. The survival rate for all treatments is 100%. During this study the temperature ranged (28.6-31.8 oC), pH (6.7-8.2), DO (6.3-8.1 ppm), and salinity (23-27 ppt).Keywords: growth, live feed, survival rate, tiger grouper.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dasar yang bertujuan untuk (1) mengidentifikasi karakteristik nelayan perikanan tangkap yang ada di Kota Lhokseumawe (Studi Kasus di Perkampungan Nelayan Pusong), serta (2) menganalisis  persepsi nelayan  perikanan tangkap terhadap peranan Lembaga Hukum Adat Laot  (LHAL) yang merupakan kearifan lokal yang ada di lingkungan domisili mareka. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey dan analisis datanya dengan pendekatan  kualitatif dengan mengunakan data tabulasi quisioner hasil wawancara dengan rensponden. Hasil penelitian menunjukan karakteristik umur nelayan berada pada umur produktif dengan tingkat pendidikan formal dan nonformal yang masih rendah, pengalaman sebagai nelayan perikanan tangkap yang lama namun mayoritas tidak memiliki sarana kapal dan alat tangkap sendiri. Persepsi nelayan perikanan tangkap tentang peranan Lembaga Hukum Adat Laot (LHAL) secara berjenjang adalah (1) peran LHAL dalam menyelesaikan peselisihan dan persengketaan antar nelayan, (2) peranan LHAL dalam mengawasi ketentuan hukum adat laot, (3) Peranan LHAL sebagai penghubung antara pemerintah dengan nelayan dan (4) peranan LHAL sebagai pelaksana upacara adat laot.This study was basic study that aimed to (1) identify the characteristics of fishermen existing at Lhokseumawe City (Case Study at Pusong Village), and (2) analyze the perception of fishermen onto the role of Laot Customary Law Institution which was a local wisdom in  their domicily  environment. The research method used was survey method while the data analysis by using qualitative approach with tabulated quitionary data of renspondents. The results showed that the characteristics of fishermen age was in the productive age with the levels of formal and non-formal education were still low. The experience as a fisherman was already long experience, but the majority of them did not have their own boat and fishing equipments. Perception of fishermen onto the role of Laot Customary Law Institution were (1) the role of Laot Customary Law Institution in solving disputes and unpleasantness among fishermen, (2) the role of Laot Customary Law Institution in supervising the provision of laot customary law, (3) The role of Laot Customary Law Institution as a connector for both the government and fishermen (4) the role of Laot Customary Law Institution as executive agent of laot ceremonies.

Abstract

AbstrakKulit ikan tuna sirip kuning merupakan salah satu hasil samping produk perikanan yang belum maksimal pemanfataannya. Kulit ikan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai gelatin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mempelajari pengaruh konsentrasi HCl terhadap jumlah rendemen gelatin yang dihasilkan. Perlakuan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah penambahan pelarut HCl dengan konsentrasi berbeda yaitu 1%, 2% dan 3% selama 48 jam (1;2 b/v). Ekstraksi gelatin dilakukan menggunakan akuades (1:2 b/v, 80ºC, selama 6 jam). metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Konsentrasi HCl yang digunakan berpengaruh terhadap jumlah rendemen gelatin yang dihasilkan. Rendemen tertinggi dihasilkan menggunakan konsentrasi HCl 3% yaitu 7,92% dari jumlah bahan baku tulang ikan. Gelatin yang diperoleh memiliki nilai kadar air sebesar 1,75%, abu 1,51% dan lemak sebesar 22,02%. Gugus fungsi yang dihasilkan pada perlakuan terbaik terdapat amida A, II dan III.Kata kunci: FTIR, gelatin, HCL, kulit ikan tuna, rendemenAbstractYellowfin tuna skin is one of the most potential solid waste of fisheries product that have not been maximally utilized. Fish skin can be used as gelatin, because it is contained collagen. Collagen of fish skin can be hydrolyzed into a gelatin. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of adding HCl with different concentration. The treatment apllied was the addition of HCl with different concentrations 1%, 2% and 3% with immersion of fish bone for 48 hours (1:2 w/v). HCl concentrations used has an effect for the gelatin yield. HCl 3% concentration was the best treatment of concentration with the best yield. The yield of gelatin obtained was 7.92% from total fish skin samples. It has moisture content of 1.75%, ash content of 1.51% and fat content of 22.02%. Abstract

Salinitas diperairan dapat menimbulkan tekanan osmosis yang berbeda dengan tekanan osmosis dalam tubuh organisme perairan. Ion Ca2+ merupakan salah satu ion yang terkandung dalam kadar salinitas yang menentukan tekanan osmosis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan nano kalsium cangkang kijing (NCCK) pada pakan dan lingkungan dalam pemeliharaan media bersalinitas 4 ppt. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 40 hari dilaboratorium perikanan, Universitas Abulyatama. Berat rata-rata ikan pada awal penelitian yaitu 1,82 gram dengan jumlah ikan 648 ekor dengan menggunakan 9 akuarium yaitu 72 ekor/akuarium. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji T (perbandingan) antara ikan nila tanpa penambahan NCCK pada pakan dan lingkungan (A) dengan penambahan NCCK sebanyak 2% pada pakan (B) dan penambahan NCCK sebanyak 40 mg/L pada lingkungan (C). Hasil yang diperoleh antara perbandingan A dan B adalah berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan berat namun berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan panjang dan kelangsungan hidup. Untuk uji T antara perlakuan A dan C berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan panjang dan kelangsungan hidup, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan berat. Sedangkan untuk uji T antara perlakuan B dan C berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan berat dan panjang. Kalsium mempunyai peran penting dalam proses osmoregulasi pada ikan, dengan adanya penambahan kalsium dapat mempercepat osmoregulasi. Hasil uji kadar kalsium (Ca2+) dengan proses kalsinasi menggunakan metode AAS (Atomic Absortion Spectrophotometer) adalah 77,15%.Kata kunci: cangkang kijing; nano CaO; osmoregulasi; salinitas Water salinity can cause osmotic pressure which is different from the osmotic pressure that occurs in the body of the aquatic organisms. The Ca2+ ion is one of the ions contains in salinity which can initiate the osmotic pressure. This study aims to find out the effect of nano calcium addition from the mussel shell (NCCK) in the fish feed and the environment in the 4 ppt salinity media. This research was done for 40 days in a fishery laboratory, Abulyatama University. The average weight of fish at the study was 1.82 grams, with the number of fish 648 using 9 aquariums that is 72 fish/aquarium. The data were analyzed using the t-test (comparison) between (A) tilapia without the addition of NCCK in the fish feed and environment, (B) tilapia with the 2% addition of NCCK in the fish feed, (C) tilapia with the 40mg/L addition of NCCK in the environment (C). The result obtained from the ratio of A and B shows a significant effect on fish weight growth. However, this result did not affect the fish length and survival rate. Moreover, the result from the t-test between A and C also shows a significant effect on the length and survival rate. Nevertheless, this result did not affect fish weight growth. Further, the t-test between B and C shows a significant effect on the survival rate but did not have any effect on the fish growth both in weight and length. Calcium has an essential role in the osmoregulation process in fish, with the addition of calcium can accelerate osmoregulation. The result of the Calcium (Ca2+) test with the calcination process using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) method was 77.15%.Keywords:  mussel shell; nano CaO; osmoregulation; salinity

Abstract

This study's overreaching objective was to assess the suitability and applicability of the existing legal and institutional framework for managing the coastal and marine resources in Bangladesh. Together with, the fundamental challenges faced by the artisanal and small-scale fishers in Bangladesh were critically scrutinized. The study revealed that the regulatory framework in Bangladesh is characterized by jurisdictional overlapping followed by the conflict of interests among the public institutes, which originated from the aged and fragmented laws and ambiguous business allocation; consequently, the artisanal and small-scale fishers suffer a lot. The local government and community's right to resource management remains fuzzy. Bangladesh can enact new sectoral laws followed by business reallocation for the line ministries. Abstract

Usaha budidaya ikan lele dumbo memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi karena merupakan salah satu komoditas hasil perikanan yang potensial untuk diekspor. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Bulan Mei hingga Bulan Juni 2015 dan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Fisiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Syiah Kuala, Laboratorium Akuatik Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Syiah Kuala dan laboratorium Mikrobiologi BBI Ujong Batee Aceh Besar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas bubuk rumput laut merah (Gracillaria sp) sebagai imunostimulan infeksi bakteri Streptococcus iniae pada ikan lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu secara eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) non faktorial dengan empat perlakuan tiga kali ulangan. Perlakuan adalah pemberian bubuk rumput laut merah secara perendaman dengan dosis perlakuan A (125 mg/l), perlakuan B (100 mg/l), perlakuan C (75 mg/l) dan perlakuan D (kontrol) tanpa perendaman dengan bubuk rumput laut merah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perendendaman bubuk rumput laut merah terhadap ikan lele dumbo dengan dosis yang berbeda berpengaruh terhadap pencegahan infeksi bakteri Streptococcus iniae pada ikan lele dumbo. Pemberian bubuk rumput laut merah untuk meningkatkan sistem imun ikan lele dumbo menunjukkan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup, dimana F hitung (45.111) F tabel 0,01 (7.59). Perlakuan terbaik terdapat pada perendaman dengan bubuk rumput laut merah dengan dosis 100 mg/l dengan persentase kelangsungan hidup sebesar 83,33%. Selanjutnya kelangsungan hidup terendah terdapat pada perlakuan D (kontrol) tanpa perendaman dengan bubuk rumput laut merah dengan persentase kelangsungan hidup 23,33 % dan mengalami gejala klinis yang paling buruk. Total leukosit pada ikan lele dumbo meningkat pada saat diberi perlakuan perendaman dengan bubuk rumput laut merah dan pada saat uji tantang dengan bakteri Streptococcus iniae. Kualitas air selama penelitian berada pada kondisi yang optimal untuk pertumbuhan ikan lele dumbo dengan kisaran Do 5,0-6,4 ppm, suhu 28-30 0C dan pH 7,0-7,3.Catfish farming has a potential economic value for its commodity in export trading. This study was conducted in May until June 2015 at Physiology Laboratory and Aquatic Laboratory 0f Veteranary Faculty, Syiah Kuala University, then at Laboratory of BBI Ujung Batee. Aceh Besar. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of red seaweed powder (Gracillaria sp) as immunostimulant againts Streptococcus iniae bacterial infection in catfish (Clarias gariepinus). The method used in this study was experimental method by using a completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial with four treatments of three replications. The factor of experiment was different dosages of red seaweed powder throld soaking treatment. Those different dosages were A (125 mg / l), treatment B (100 mg / l), treatment C (75 mg / l) and treatment D (control) without the red seaweed powder. The results showed that red seaweed powder word give prevention on bacterial infection in catfish. Aplication of red seaweed powder to the immune system of catfish showed highly significant effect on survival rate where F count (45,111) F table 0,01 (7,59). The hignest survival rate was obtainied from red seaweed powder at a dose of 100 mg/l with a survival rate 83.33%. Furthermore, the lowest one was from the treatment D (control) without soaking by red seaweed powder which survival rate was 23.33% then its clinical symptoms were the worst one. Total leukocytes of catfish inereased when the fish was red seawed powder treated and bacterial challenge test. Water quality during the study was in optimal conditions for the growth of the catfish which the parameters water DO 5.0 to 6.4 ppm, a temperature 28-30 0C and pH 7.0 to 7.3.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Spirulina platensis for remediation of vannamei shrimp culture waste. The method used in this study was a Non-Factoral Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely (A) Control; (B) 50% waste (1500 ml waste + 1500 ml water) + technical fertilizer + Spirulina inoculant; (C) 75% waste (2,250 ml of waste + 750 ml of water) technical fertilizer + Spirulina inoculant; (D) 100% waste + technical fertilizer + Spirulina inoculant. Data analysis used ANOVA with 95% confidence level. The results showed that the use of Spirulina platensis as a remediation agent for vaname shrimp culture had a significant effect on reducing levels of waste ammonia, phosphate, nitrate, and density of Spirulina platensis (Fcount Ftable 0.05).Keywords: Bioremediator; Innoculant; Vanname shrimp; Waste water

Abstract

Ikan cupang (Betta splendens) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan hias air tawar yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi dan potensial untuk dikembangkan. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh pembudidaya ikan cupang adalah sulitnya ditemukan induk yang matang gonad. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini dengan penambahan vitamin E dalam ransum pakan, sehingga mempercepat tingkat kematangan gonad. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efisiensi penambahan vitamin E dalam ransum pakan terhadap tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG), indeks kematangan gonad (IKG), dan fekunditas. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah kontrol, vitamin E 0.03%, 0.06% dan 0.1%. Parameter penelitian yang diamati meliputi TKG, IKG, fekunditas dan diameter telur. Hasil penelitian terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan penambahan vitamin E 0,06% dengan nilai TKG level 4, IKG sebesar 13%, fekunditas sebanyak 72 butir dan diameter telur berkisar antara 6-7 mm.Betta fish (Betta splendens) is one type of freshwater ornamental fish that had been high economic value and potential to be developed. The problem faced by betta fish farmers were the difficulty of finding mature gonads. One effort was made to overcome this problem with the addition of vitamin E in feed rations, thus speeding up the maturity level of the gonads. This study aims to determine the efficiency of vitamin E addition in feed ration to gonad maturity level (GML), gonado somatic index (GSI), and fecundity.  The design used in this study is completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment used was control, vitamin E 0.03%, 0.06% and 0.1%. The observed parameters were GML, GSI, fecundity and egg diameter. The best result was obtained at the addition of vitamin E 0,06% with GML, GSI, fecundity and egg diameter were level 4, 13%, 72 eggs and 6-7 mm respectively.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan gizi dari pakan pelet yang diformulasikan dari bahan baku nabati yang berbeda dan sesuai dengan kecukupan gizi ikan herbivora. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode Deskriptif Analisis dengan pendekatan Kuantitatif dengan perlakuan sebagai berikut: A : pelet yang diformulasikan dari tepung daun kelor, B : pelet yang diformulasikan dari tepung daun pegagan, C : pelet yang diformulasikan dari tepung daun gamal, D: pelet yang diformulasikan dari tepung kedelai. Parameter uji dalam penelitian ini adalah kandungan gizi pakan seperti protein, karbohidrat, lemak abu dan air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan gizi pakan yang paling baik terdapat pada pakan dari jenis tepung daun gamal dengan jumlah protein adalah 32,28%, karbohidrat 36,30%, lemak 8,45%, abu 10,77% dan air 12,20%. Selanjutnya pakan dari jenis tepung daun kelor dengan jumlah protein adalah 32,20%, karbohidrat 36,88%, lemak 6,97%, abu 11,85% dan Air 12,10%. Kemudian diikuti oleh pakan dari jenis tepung daun pegagan dengan jumlah protein adalah 28,33%, karbohidrat 34,67%, lemak 9,73%, abu 12,15% dan air 14,10% dan terakhir pakan dari jenis tepung biji kedelai dengan jumlah protein adalah 29,35%, karbohidrat 35,30%, lemak 13,08%, abu 11,28% dan air 12,10%.Kata kunci: pakan; gamal; kelor; pegagan; kedelaiAbstractThis study aims to determine the nutritional content of pellet feed which is formulated from different vegetable raw materials and following the nutritional adequacy of herbivorous fish. The method used in this study is Descriptive Analysis Method with Quantitative approach with the following treatment: A: pellets formulated from Moringa leaf flour, B: pellets formulated from gotu kola leaf flour, C: pellets formulated from gamal leaf flour, D: pellets formulated from soy flour. The test parameters in this study are feed nutrient content such as protein, carbohydrates, ash and water. The results showed that the best nutrient content in the diet of gamal leaf flour with the amount of protein was 32.28%, carbohydrate 36.30%, fat 8.45%, ash 10.77% and water 12.20 %. Furthermore, feed on the type of Moringa leaf flour with the amount of protein was 32.20%, carbohydrate 36.88%, fat 6.97%, ash 11.85% and water 12.10%.
