Abstract

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is one of the causes of diabetes mellitus and is an important cause of visual disability and blindness. Screening of diabetic retinopathy is essential for both early detection and early treatment. Currently, the ophthalmologists use a non-mydriatic fundus camera to capture retinal images. Based on the fundus images, the ophthalmologists diagnose manually, which is time-consuming and prone to errors. The objectives of this project are to study image processing techniques, particularly on fundus images for diabetic retinopathy screening, to develop an automatic screening and classification system for diabetic retinopathy using fundus images in order to detect diabetic retinopathy at an early stage, and finally, to propose use of new eye fundus images, expert diagnosis image processing techniques, machine learning classifiers, and also App Designer as the Graphical User Interface (GUI) environment for early detection of the signs of diabetic retinopathy. An accurate retinal screening, therefore, is required to assist the retinal screeners to classify the retinal images effectively. Highly efficient and accurate image processing techniques must thus be used in order to produce an effective screening of diabetic retinopathy. It is envisaged that the proposed decision support system for clinical screening would greatly contribute to and assist the management and the detection of diabetic retinopathy.

Abstract

Educational institution websites are required to continue to make improvements and adjustments both in the content of the content that is loaded on the website as well as new things needed by its users. The lack of visitors visiting the STMIK campus website Syaikh Zainuddin NW Anjani is a problem for the Institute. Therefore this research focuses on how to develop the SMTIK NW Anjani website to increase the number of visitors. As a medium that is used to promote the campus, of course the website must be made better both in terms of interface design and in terms of content presentation in accordance with user involvement. Website analysis and evaluation is carried out to develop a system. Improvements made based on the results of data analysis using the User Centred Design method. This study uses the User-centred Design method which in its development uses the user's perspective of the system. The discussion of this research starts from identifying user needs, analysing user needs, evaluating initial designs, creating solution designs, and evaluating solution designs. so that the display or information provided is in accordance with user needs and provides information that is always updated and can help in the teaching and learning process. The results of the evaluation analysis can be used to redesign the interface of the site https://stmiksznw.ac.id/. The discussion of this research starts from identifying user needs, analysing user needs, evaluating initial designs, creating solution designs. After analysing data to see the percentage level effectiveness, efficiency and level of satisfaction felt by users when using the initial website and the proposed website. Data is then used as a basis for making improvements made in the prototyping paper as a proposed website.

Abstract

Hydroponic farming has emerged as an innovative solution to address land limitations and support sustainable food production. However, its success highly depends on consistent monitoring of light intensity and nutrient water availability. This study aims to design and develop a prototype monitoring and control system for hydroponic plants based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using the ESP32 microcontroller. The system employs an ultrasonic sensor to measure water level, a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor to detect light intensity, a 12V DC water pump, and LED grow lights as actuators. Environmental condition data is transmitted in real-time to the Blynk mobile application, which also provides automatic notifications when anomalies occur, such as low water levels or light intensity falling below the threshold. The development method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, covering analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Testing results show that the system operates automatically and in real-time, achieving 100% detection accuracy for water level measurements and 98% for light intensity measurements. The implementation of this prototype is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of small-scale hydroponic cultivation and serve as an affordable solution for farmers and the general public to adopt smart farming technology.
