Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Health is very important for all humans, because without good health it will be difficult to carry out daily activities. According to the Health Law Number 36 Year 2009 Article 1 "Health is a healthy state, both physically, mentally, spiritually and socially that allows everyone to live socially and economically productive". In the world of work, health is one of the main things that workers must have to do their work. Including in the world of shipping both on land and at sea. Workers at sea, especially ship crews at work, must be in good health so that they can carry out activities on board as much as possible. Before the ship's crew boarded the ship, the ship's crew had to do a medical check-up as a mandatory requirement to board the ship. Every three or six months the ship's crew will make a crew change because the work contract has expired and the ship will look for a replacement crew to work on the ship. During the Covid-19 pandemic, crew changes experienced obstacles because the spread of this virus was quite fast. All regions in the world are currently implementing strict health protocols to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Especially for ship crews, they also implement strict procedures to deal with Covid-19. During a pandemic. During this pandemic, the challenges faced by the manning division are very high where the process of changing ship crews is very difficult to carry out, while the crew on board the ship has expired. Another challenge faced when changing crews is that there is no standby crew so that the crew's working period on the ship is not in accordance with the previously agreed Sea Work Agreement.

Abstract

The focus of this research includes aspects of language, linguistics, and literature skills, as well as their impact on human resource management and public organizations. Through qualitative descriptive analysis methods, this study reveals that language skills, including grammar, vocabulary, and syntax, are the main foundation of writing competence. The results of this study show that linguistics and exposure to literature play an important role in developing writing excellence. Linguistic principles enrich students' understanding of sentence structure and coherence, while exposure to literature stimulates creativity and enriches writing styles. The integration of these components into the vocational curriculum is a practical strategy to strengthen overall writing skills. In addition, this study highlights the importance of writing competence in the context of human resource management. Students with strong writing skills are better equipped to make convincing job applications and communicate effectively in the context of human resource management. This demonstrates the need for vocational institutions to work with career services to provide the guidance and resources needed by students to succeed in HR-related communication. This research confirms that clear and effective written communication is very important in public organizations. Good writing skills ensure transparency, accountability, and accessibility of information within this organization.

Abstract

This research explores the role of maritime vocational schools in preparing graduates to become effective advocates for policy development and sustainability within the maritime industry. Through qualitative research and descriptive analysis, the study examines the perspectives of maritime professionals, lecturers, graduates, and government officials to assess the effectiveness of current educational programs. The findings highlight strong technical competency development but reveal gaps in policy understanding, leadership skills, and the practical application of sustainability principles. Collaboration between industry and educational institutions is effective, but greater government involvement is needed. To address these challenges, maritime vocational schools must enhance their curricula by incorporating modules on policy advocacy, leadership development, and sustainability. This will ensure that graduates are equipped to influence policy, lead teams, and promote sustainable practices, contributing to the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of the maritime industry.
