Abstract

Background: Capsule endoscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure to examine the upper digestive tract (small intestine). Capsule endoscopy examinations are still rarely performed by patients for various reasons. Therefore, it is necessary to increase knowledge and perception. The aim of this research is to determine the characteristics of respondents based on knowledge and perception Research Method: using a cross sectional design. The population in the study were all internal medicine patients at Pluit Hospital, totaling 36 samples. The research sample consisted of 36 people divided into 2 groups with a ratio of 18 respondents in the intervention group and 18 respondents who did not receive intervention or the control group. The research time was from May 2023 to January 2024 with side purpose sampling technique. The intervention carried out was providing education to the control group and instruments used to collect data using questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the Wilcoxon Test and the Mann - Whitney Test. Research Results: show that there is an influence of Health Education on patient knowledge and perceptions (p value 0.004). Conclusion: Providing Health Education can influence respondents' knowledge and perceptions about carrying out capsule Endoscopy examinations. The recommendation given is that patients should be given Health Education by medical personnel who are experts in each field, such as in this study, nurses who are experts and work in the diagnostic room..

Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure refers to a condition where blood pressure in the blood vessel system continues to increase (World Health Organization, 2018). Gestational hypertension can have detrimental effects on the mother and fetus, and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease in the future. Women who have experienced preeclampsia or hypertension have higher health risks, including a 7- to 8-fold increased risk of death from coronary artery disease (Subki & et al, 2018). This study aims to investigate the correlation between factors that influence the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women in the area served by the Gununghalu Community Health Center. The research design used was case control, with a population of 1,473 people, where the sample consisted of pregnant women, including 63 of whom had hypertension. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square method and multiple logistic regression analysis to identify factors that influence the incidence of hypertension. The research results show that there is a relationship between sodium consumption and hypertension in pregnant women showing a significance value of 0.007, indicating that there is a significant correlation between stress and the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women with a p value of 0.028. However, no significant relationship was found between physical activity and the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women, with a p value of 0.084. Multivariate analysis shows that sodium consumption is a risk factor for hypertension in pregnant women (p=0.004). It is hoped that all pregnant women will always have a pregnancy check-up with a health worker to avoid risks during pregnancy.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The incidence of congenital hypothyroidism (CH) in Indonesia was estimated to be as high as 1 in 1,500 live births, significantly higher than in neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam. However, despite efforts by the Ministry of Health to implement CH screening as part of maternal and child health services, the program's national coverage remains limited. This study aimed to identify factors influencing congenital hypothyroidism screening (CHS) implementation among mothers with newborns. The study was conducted at the Sekarwangi Health Center area, Sukabumi Regency, in 2023. This cross-sectional study used proportional random sampling to collect data from 291 respondents. Univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses were performed. Bivariate analysis showed that only the mother's occupation, time, and distance to healthcare facilities significantly influenced CHS implementation (p<0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed that the variables of occupation (p=0.016, PR=3.433), income (p=0.045, PR=2.348), marital status (p=0.023, PR=7.720), and accessibility of healthcare facilities (distance) (p<0.001, PR=2.055) were significant. Based on the analysis, accessibility to healthcare facilities (distance) was the most dominant factor influencing CHS implementation among newborns, followed by the variables of occupation, income, and marital status. Improving access to healthcare services is necessary, such as through the provision of mobile healthcare programs and digital-based education, to expand the coverage of screening.
