Abstract

This study aims to determine the participation of parents in the implementation of child-friendly school programs. This research is a qualitative research using a case study approach. Interview guidelines and questionnaire sheets were used as instruments to obtain data regarding parental participation. Parental participation was investigated based on the implementation standards of child-friendly school programs. There are five formulations of research results based on the forms of participation carried out by parents in the implementation of child-friendly school programs (1) Sending children to school close to parents (home/office), (2) Providing quality time at least 20 minutes a day on a regular basis to listen to and respond to children, (3) Provide time, thought, energy, and materials according to ability to ensure the growth and development, interests, talents, and abilities of children, (4) Supervise children's safety, safety, and comfort including ensuring healthy internet and social media use child-friendly, (5) Communicating intensively with the school.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to explore a study of Reading Aloud Strategy in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and its relevance in contemporary educational settings. This research specifically addresses the following objectives: to identify the implications of RA implementation, determine the most effective strategies for its application, and evaluate its effectiveness across different educational levels. Data in the form of articles retrieved through internet search engines at the last five years; between 2018 and 2022. Key search terms included "Reading Aloud," "EFL reading strategies," and "teaching reading comprehension." Articles were selected based on criteria such as publication type, accessibility, participant demographics, research methods, and their focus on RA in EFL contexts. Findings are categorized based on their contributions to answering the research questions, providing insights into the strategic implementation and outcomes of RA in various educational settings. The result reveals that the RA strategy continues to be a adaptable and valuable strategy in Teaching English. Educators are still encouraged to adapt RA methods to their specific classroom contexts, using both traditional and technological approaches to maximize student outcomes in reading comprehension and other learning objectives.

Abstract

The research aimed to know students' perception on the use of Wordwall.net as the media for learning English grammar at Junior High School Darul Arifin Muaro Jambi. This research used descriptive quantitative method with a survey design. This method is considered as the right approach for this type of research. The sample of this research is all students of ninth grade from class 9I,9J,9K,9L, and 9M at Junior High School Darul Arifin Muaro Jambi which 102 students. The instrument used in data collection was questionnaires. The data was collected using a close-ended questionnaire based on a Likert scale and analyzed with SPSS Version 26. The findings indicated that the use of Wordwall.net was clearly positive for the students on the indicators of feeling (86,04%), attitude (80,3%), and engagement (82,62%). The final results of the research showed the students' perceptions on the use of Wordwall.net as the media for learning English grammar are in very good category with percentage 83%.
