Abstract

Temanggung Regency, as an upstream area, has critical land, so the Regional Government has launched a Sustainable Soil and Water Conservation Program. The purpose of the audit communication for this socialization program is to diagnose the challenges and barriers that occur in the socialization process of a sustainable soil and water conservation program in Temanggung Regency and provide recommendations for future socialization. This research employs a concurrent embedded mixed methods design, with qualitative methodology as the primary method and quantitative methodology as the secondary method, in a proportion of 80% qualitative and 20% quantitative. Based on the results of the diagnosis, it is known that there is interference, which is a factor inhibiting the success of the socialization carried out in each observation unit. Several recommendations were made based on the audit that had been carried out. Namely, communicators must improve interpersonal communication abilities/skills and implement interactive communication to create more effective two-way communication. The context of the socialization implementation is carried out at the right time to support the effectiveness of the message's performance. Messages are packaged in clear, straightforward, intact, and simple language but must be supplemented with content according to program implementation instructions. The frequency needs to be increased, and a unique account for the conservation program is created. Written and bureaucratic communication must be maintained, but the effectiveness of the communication network needs to be increased through WhatsApp groups and other media. It is necessary to evaluate community feedback.

Abstract

Background:Culture media or microbial growth media is a material consisting of a mixture of nutrients used by microorganisms for growth and reproduction. Anaerobic bacteria can thrive by requiring little or no oxygen for growth and metabolism. Purpose: The purpose to determine the potential of soybean powder as an alternative nitrogen source in Streptococcus mutans bacterial growth media and determine the optimum concentration of soybean powder in alternative media for Streptococcus mutans bacterial growth. Methods: The research method is a laboratory experiment to test soybean powder as an alternative medium for the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria using the Candle jar method. The population used is soybean powder with the brand soy flour, while the sample used is Streptococcus mutans bacteria. Results: The results obtained can be known that the average value of colony growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria in alternative media of soybean powder with a concentration variation of 2 grams was 30 colonies, a concentration variation of 3 grams was 54 colonies, a concentration variation of 4 grams was 40 colonies, and a concentration variation of 5 grams was 72 colonies. From the average value, it can be seen that the growth of Streptococcus mutans on alternative media of soybean powder can grow well, but the most optimum growth is in the concentration variation of 5 grams. Conclusion:Based on the observations obtained, it shows that soybean powder (Glycine max (L.) Merr) can be used as an alternative medium for the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria.

Abstract

Background: Dental caries is one of the most common oral health problems worldwide, affecting 573 million children and 2.5 billion adults. Dental caries is a disease that attacks the hard tissues of the tooth, such as cementum, dentin, and enamel. This causes bacterial invasion, pulp death, and spread of infection to periapical tissues, which can cause pain. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the microbial culture picture of the oral cavity of patients with dental caries. Methods: This research is descriptive and the samples in this study amounted to 7 samples of patients with dental caries at Dr. Sitanala Hospital, Tangerang City. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling technique. Results: The results of this study found 1 sample (14.3%) of Candida albicans fungus in fungal culture. In addition, 9 samples (64.3%) of Staphylococcus Sp. bacteria, 3 samples (21.4%) of Klebsiella Sp. bacteria, and 2 samples (14.3%) of Bacillus Sp. bacteria were found in the bacteria culture. Conclusion: It has been proven that the oral cavity of dental caries sufferers contains various kinds of microbes, such as the fungus Candida albicans, the bacteria Staphylococcus Sp., the bacteria Klebsiella Sp., and the bacteria Bacillus Sp..
