Abstract

The purpose of this study is to solve multi-criteria problems using the ε-constraint method with the help of an excel solver. The multi-criteria optimization problem is an optimization problem that has more than one objective function. A multi-criteria optimization problem can be said to be a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) if there is more than one thing that must be considered in the model as a goal or criterion. In general, the weighting method and the ε-constraint method are the most widely used. The weighting method converts a set of options into options by multiplying each option by the inventory weight. On the other hand, the ε-constraint method only saves one of the existing goals and limits the goals with a certain number of values to get an efficient limit.

Abstract

People have historically utilized temurui leaves to treat diabetes and diarrhoea. This study aimed to determine the temurui leaf extract's antioxidant properties. Antioxidant activity was examined on methanol, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts of temurui leaves using the FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power) and DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picryhydrazyl) techniques spectrophotometrically at wavelengths of 720 and 517 nm, respectively. Antioxidant activity parameters were measured based on the IC50 value. The results showed that methanol, ethyl acetate, and n-hexane extracts of temurui leaves had relatively weak antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 179,745±4,26; 189,730±15,403; and 282,244±12,297 mg/L (DPPH method) and 287,305±19,054; 344,809±63,907; 505,065±32,567 mg/L (FRAP method), respectively. Therefore, methanol extract of temurui leaves has the potential as a better antioxidant than n-hexane and ethyl acetate extracts. The UPLC-QTof-MS/MS analysis indicated that the methanol extract of these leaves consists of 13 chemicals such as phenolic, steroid, and alkaloid groups which are closely related to its antioxidant properties.   Keywords:  Murraya koenigii L spreng, Antioxidant, DPPH, FRAP, UPLC-MS

Abstract

Pemanfaatan selulosa dari limbah serat kelapa sawit dapat diaplikasikan menjadi hidrogel. Dalam tulisan ini, selulosa dari serat kelapa sawit diperoleh melalui proses hidrolisis dengan NaOH kemudian dipucatkan dengan H2O2 3%. Hidrogel yang terbentuk diperoleh dari sintesis asam sitrat sebagai agen pengikat silang dengan CMC dan selulosa serat kelapa sawit dengan perbandingan rasio massa 0,1:1:0,25 g. Karakteristik hidrogel yang dihasilkan bersifat amorf dan memiliki morfologi permukaan rata dan halus dengan persentase swelling 300%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa hidrogel ini berpotensi diaplikasikan sebagai solusi pemanfaatan limbah serat kelapa sawit di industri.
