Abstract

Introduction: site requirements for the construction of a dug well, this is necessary so that the quality of dug well water is safe in accordance with the established rules, Pollution caused by bacteria to water in the ground widens to ± 2 meters at a distance of 5 meters from the source of pollution 3 and narrows to a distance of 11 meters in the direction of the soil flow, Research Method: This type of research is descriptive research, namely to determine the use of silica sand filter media – activated carbon in filter reactors to reduce TDS, Nitrite (NO2), Dissolved Manganese and MPN Coliform with a comparison of the composition of filter media with references to clean water quality standards Permenkes No. 2 of 2023, The sample in this study is 1 dug well located in Pattingaloang Village, Ujung Tanah District, Makaasar City in 2023. Results: The results of this study after filtration interventions of manganese media, activated carbon, and silica sand found that TDS, color, Manganese Nitrite (NO3) has decreased environmental pollution levels in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023. Conclusion: The conclusion of the research results is that silica, manganese and activated carbon sand filtration media, TDS, manganese (NO2) nitrate and MPN Coliform can effectively reduce water pollution levels in dug wells in accordance with Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. So that the risk of infectious and non-communicable diseases can be overcome by the intervention of filtration media filtration of silica sand, manganese and activated carbon.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis patients who test positive must undergo therapy using Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs (OAT). Treatment is divided into two phases, namely the intensive phase is carried out for 2 months with the consumption of rifampicin (R), isoniazid (H), pyrazinamide (Z), and etambutol (E) and the advanced phase is carried out for 4 months with isoniazid (H) and rifampicin (R) OAT. To find out the difference in creatinine and urea levels in the 2nd and 3rd months. Typeof research using quantitative with aprospective cohort research design. The sampling technique uses the purposive sampling method with a sample number of 15. Normality and homogeneity tests were carried out, normal distributed results were obtained and the number of samples did not meet the requirements, so the Wilcoxon statistical test was used. A total of 12 respondents (80.0%) experienced a decrease in urea levels from the 2nd month to the 3rd month. There was a differencein creatinine levels at the 2nd and 3rd months with a p-value of 0.026 (p < 0.05), butthere was no difference inthe urea levelsat the 2nd and 3rd months with a p-value of 0.201 (p < 0.05).

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: The construction sector remains one of the most hazardous industries worldwide, with significantly higher rates of fatal and major injuries. In Indonesia, construction accidents contribute to a considerable proportion of national occupational incidents. This study evaluates the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs in a rural water supply infrastructure project. Method: A cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted involving 54 construction workers selected through total sampling. The study assessed three key variables: availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), PPE usage, and OHS training participation. Data were collected through structured interviews and direct observation. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level 0.05. Results: The study found significant associations between OHS program implementation and PPE availability (p = 0.003), PPE usage (p = 0.001), and OHS training (p = 0.008). Workers with complete PPE availability and proper usage and those who had received safety training demonstrated a higher adherence to OHS protocols. Conclusion: The successful implementation of OHS programs in construction sites, particularly in rural water infrastructure projects, relies heavily on the availability and use of PPE and structured safety training. Strengthening these components can lead to a safer work environment and significantly reduce workplace accidents
