Abstract

Introduction: Many young athletes joined football schools (SSB) to gain and improve their skills, aiming to participate further in high-level competitions. However, most SSB management lacked comprehension of sports sciences, essential to support young athletes' growth and development and improved sports performance. This program aimed to improve coaches' and parents' knowledge and attitudes towards sports sciences and its implementation in SSB. Methods: Involving representatives from 13 SSBs in Sleman, an integrated training on sports sciences comprising of long-term athlete development (LTAD), nutrition and psychological development for young athletes, coaching program, and management of SSB was carried out. Knowledge was measured before and after training using questionnaires consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQ). A focus group discussion (FGD) was also conducted to assess participants' knowledge and attitudes about implementing sports sciences in SSB. Changes in knowledge scores were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: Thirty-five participants completed both pre-test and post-test, whereas only 17 participated in the FGD. The mean score during the post-test increased significantly by 12.71 points compared to the pre-test (74.29 vs. 61.58, p<0.05) with increased passing rate (57.14% vs 25.71%). Individual's change in knowledge improved by 28.83%. As stated during FGD, participants believed in the benefits of implementing sports sciences on athletes' growth and development, health, well-being, and performance. They also believed in the possibility of implementation, considering the growing number of licensed coaches. However, the inhibiting factors might be a lack of capable human resources, funding, readiness, and knowledge. Fortunately, a few SSBs reported having partially implemented sports sciences, and all SSBs are willing to start implementing sports sciences by educating all involved parties regarding sports sciences. Conclusion: These findings concluded the program's success and the promising possibility of sports sciences implementation in SSB.

Abstract

Stunting adalah kondisi tergangguannya pertumbuhan yang ditandai dengan panjang badan atau tinggi badan anak yang lebih rendah dibandingkan anak seusianya. Di Kabupaten Gunungkidul, prevalensi stunting sebesar 22,2%, sedangkan prevalensi stunting di Puskesmas Karangmojo II sebesar 24,23%. Salah satu faktor utama yang mempengaruhi kejadian stunting adalah asupan zat gizi mikro seperti kalsium. Kekurangan kalsium dapat menghambat proses mineralisasi matriks tulang yang baru terbentuk dan menggangu fungsi osteoblast pembentukan tulang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalsis hubungan antara asupan kalsium dengan kejadian stunting pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Karangmojo II Gunungkidul. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan pendekatan analitik cross-sectional. Sampel terdiri atas 80 balita usia 24–59 bulan, yang diperoleh melalui teknik quota sampling dengan mempertimbangkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Pengumpulan data asupan kalsium diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuesioner Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) dan data kejadian stunting diperoleh dari pengukuran antropometri (tinggi badan) dengan indikator tinggi badan menurut umur (TB/U). Uji hubungan dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman Correlation dengan p-value <0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai median asupan kalsium adalah 732,4 mg/hari yang dikategorikan sebagai cukup. Nilai median kejadian stunting -1,35 yang dikategorikan normal dan persentase stunting 28,75%. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara asupan kalsium dan stunting (p=0,0174).

Abstract

Breakfast is an important habit that plays a major role in meeting children's energy and nutritional needs. The energy obtained from breakfast is essential for daily activities, including learning and playing, enabling children to achieve optimal performance both physically and cognitively. Furthermore, breakfast habits also contribute to children's nutritional status, reflecting the balance between nutritional intake and needs. However, the reality shows that in Indonesia, approximately 40% of children still do not have breakfast before going to school, potentially affecting their nutritional status. This study aims to determine the relationship between breakfast habits and the nutritional status of students at Muhammadiyah Kayen Elementary School. The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and utilized primary data. The study population was all 225 students in grades I to IV. Of these, 112 students were selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire to explore breakfast habits and anthropometric measurements of height and weight to determine nutritional status. Data analysis was performed using the Fisher exact test. The results showed a p-value of 0.742 (p > 0.05), indicating no significant relationship between breakfast habits and students' nutritional status. A total of 79.5% of students had good breakfast habits, while 20.5% were classified as adequate. Meanwhile, the students' nutritional status consisted of good nutrition (57.1%), overnutrition (19.7%), obesity (11.6%), malnutrition (8%), and undernutrition (3.6%). Thus, it can be concluded that breakfast habits are not significantly related to the nutritional status of students at the school.

Abstract

Padatnya aktivitas dan jadwal kuliah membuat mahasiswa bersifat acuh tak acuh terhadap makanan. Pada kondisi ini, perlu diterapkan perilaku makan yang sesuai seperti mengkonsumsi sayur dan buah untuk menjaga kesehatan. Kandungan serat dalam sayur dan buah dapat menetralkan kolesterol jahat dan lemak sehingga dapat mengatasi kejadian overweight. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan konsumsi sayur dan buah dengan status gizi pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini zmerupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 91 mahasiswa, yang dipilih melalui teknik proportional random sampling menggunakan Microsoft excel. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrument kuesioner SQ-FFQ. Data terkait status gizi diperoleh dari pengukuran berat badan serta data tinggi badan diperoleh melalui metode recall. Analisis hubungan antar variabel dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman’s Rank. Hasil analisis konsumsi sayur dan buah dengan status gizi menunjukkan p-value kurang dari (< 0,05). Penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara konsumsi sayur dan buah dengan status gizi pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan di Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta.
