Abstract

Abstract

This research explores the application of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) for detecting and classifying Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries using MRI images. The study utilized a dataset of 917 MRI images, each labeled as healthy, partially injured, or completely ruptured, to train the model. The performance of the GAN model was evaluated using a confusion matrix and a classification report, yielding an overall accuracy of 92%. The model demonstrated high proficiency in identifying healthy ACLs and partially injured ACLs but encountered some challenges in accurately identifying completely ruptured ACLs. Despite this, the results suggest that machine learning techniques, particularly GANs, have significant potential for enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of ACL injury detection. The ability of the model to distinguish between different degrees of injury could potentially aid in treatment planning. However, the study also underscores the need for further refinement of the model, particularly in improving its sensitivity in detecting severe ACL injuries. This research highlights the potential of machine learning in medical imaging and provides a solid foundation for future research in ACL injury detection and classification.

Abstract

Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) is a generalized pain from the second lumbar vertebra to the sacroiliac joint, and is generally a lifelong health disorder. LBP is often the cause of people feeling a decrease in ability in daily functional activities. Patients often complain of symptoms of pain, muscle spasms and impaired function. One of the interventions that can be used to reduce LBP is therapy using transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). TENS is a device used to relieve pain by stimulating nerves through electrodes transcutaneously. TENS is one of the modalities that can improve neuromuscular function or reduce pain and is very useful for patients with complaints of low back pain who experience pain and muscle weakness around the pelvis, trunk, and lower legs. LBP patient.Subject and Method: This study was a meta-analysis with the following PICO, population: low back pain patients. Intervention: administration of TENS. Comparison: not given TENS. Result: decreased pain. The articles used in this study were obtained from three databases, namely Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct. Keywords to search for articles “transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation” OR “TENS” AND “reduction pain” OR “pain relief” AND “low back pain”. The articles included are full-text English with a randomized control trial study design from 2007 to 2022. Article selection was carried out using PRISMA flow diagrams. Articles were analyzed using the Review Manager 5.3 . application. Results: A total of 12 case studies from continental Europe, America and Asia were selected for systematic review and meta-analysis. It was found that giving TENS -0.67 times reduced pain in complaints of low back pain compared to not given TENS significantly (SMD = -0.67; 95% CI = -1.03 to -0.32; p = 0.002).Conclusion: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation reduces pain in low back pain patients. Keywords: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, reduction pain, low back painCorrespondence: Husna Arwa Salsabil, Masters Program in Public Health, Universitas Sebelas Maret. Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the most critical public health problems and has affected more than 1.2 billion people worldwide. Risk factors for hypertension can be divided into two, namely factors that cannot be controlled (such as gender, genetics and age) and those that can be controlled such as obesity, excess BMI, smoking, and excessive salt and fat consumption. Hypertension prevalence in age groups productive tends to increase from year to year, especially in the elderly group which reaches 63.22%. This study aimed to investigate behavior change and prevention of hypertension is the Health Belief Model (HBM).Subjects and Method: This article was compiled with a systematic review and meta-analysis study. This study uses the PICO Model as follows Population: Hypertension patients. Intervention: high self-efficacy and perceived susceptibility. Comparison: low self-efficacy and perceived susceptibility. Outcome: behavior change. The meta-analysis study was conducted by searching for articles from databases in electronic form including Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus. The keywords used are "hypertension" AND "health belief model (OR self efficacy OR perceived susceptibility)" AND "change behavior". The inclusion criteria for this study were full articles using a cross-sectional study, with the publication year 2012-2022. Analysis of articles in this study using RevMan 5.3 . software. Results: A total of 10 articles reviewed in the meta-analysis showed that perceived susceptibility influenced behavioral changes in hypertensive patients (aOR= 2.16; 95% CI= 1.59 to 2.53; p<0.001) and self-efficacy also influenced behavioral changes in hypertensive patients (aOR= 1.37; 95% CI= 1.06 to 1.76; p= 0.020).Conclusion: perceptions of vulnerability and self-efficacy affect behavior changes in hypertensive patients. Keywords: hypertension, health belief model, self efficacy, perceived susceptibility.Correspondence:Gusti Fathoni Firmansyah. Abstract

Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal disorders, affecting functional ability and quality of life. Ultrasound therapy and core stability exercises are commonly used interventions for LBP, yet limited local studies have evaluated the effectiveness of their combination. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of combining ultrasound therapy and core stability exercises in reducing pain intensity among LBP patients. Method: This quasi-experimental study used a pre-test and post-test control group design. Thirty LBP patients were divided into two groups: experimental (ultrasound + core stability exercise) and control (ultrasound only). Interventions were administered twice a week for 4 weeks. Pain intensity was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Statistical analysis included paired t-tests and independent t-tests with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: Both groups experienced a significant reduction in pain (p < 0.001), but the experimental group showed a significantly greater decrease in pain intensity compared to the control group (mean VAS reduction: 4.3 vs 2.1; p < 0.001). Conclusion: The combination of ultrasound therapy and core stability exercise is more effective in reducing pain levels in LBP patients than ultrasound therapy alone. A multimodal approach is recommended for optimal LBP pain management.   Keywords: Core Stability Exercise; Low Back Pain; Pain; Physiotherapy; Ultrasound. Kata Kunci: Core Stability Exercise; Fisioterapi; Low Back Pain; Nyeri; Ultrasound.
