Abstract

Background: Planning for drug supplies in hospitals is the process of procuring drug supplies in hospitals with the aim of estimating drug needs based on data on drug use within a certain period of time in the hope that drugs are always available in each hospital service unit. In planning for pharmaceutical supplies, there are still limited drug stocks and excess drug stocks for certain types of drugs at the end of the year. This is due to inaccurate recording of drug use and due to insufficient budget availability. Methods: This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative method approach, carried out at Teluk Kuantan Hospital with a total of 4 informants, namely the Head of the Pharmacy Installation, the Planning Sub-Division, and the Pharmacy Installation Officer. This research was conducted by conducting in-depth interviews and observations and data processing was carried out by source triangulation, method triangulation and data triangulation. The data obtained were analyzed with relevant theories. Results: The results showed that the planning of pharmaceutical supplies, drug selection, compilation of drug use, drug calculations and evaluation of drug planning had been carried out according to standard procedures but the technical implementation had not been carried out optimally. Conclusion: The pharmaceutical supply planning process has been running but the results have not been as expected. Some of the underlying constraints are the limited budget allocation so that drug preparations tend to be reduced or alternative generic preparations are sought. In addition, inaccurate recording of drug use makes the calculation of pharmaceutical needs inaccurate. It is hoped that officers will be more careful in recording drugs and looking for solutions to budget needs, so that drug needs from the quality and quantity aspects can be met at the pharmaceutical installation of Teluk Kuantan Hospital.

Abstract

Nowadays, the level of competition between health service providers is increasingly high. Compared to inpatient care, outpatient services are developing more rapidly. One effort to win the competition is to improve the quality of health services and provide services according to patient needs so that it will provide patient satisfaction. In this study, patient satisfaction was identified based on 5 determinants of service quality, namely Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy and Tangibility. The aim of this research is to determine patient satisfaction based on determinants of service quality. The research was carried out using a survey method of filling out online questionnaires by respondents. The sampling technique used was Malhotra's theory with a sample size of 160 people. The research results show that the Customers Satisfaction Index (CSI) value for outpatients at health service facilities in Batam City is 79.6%, including in the satisfied category. All gap values ​​show negative results, the highest gap value is - 0.84 for the attribute of readiness to respond to patient requests and staff who are always polite. Meanwhile, the lowest gap value is -0.04 for the facility/service place attribute that looks attractive to look at. Therefore, it is necessary to gradually improve the quality of service in order to increase patient satisfaction which can be implemented based on service improvement priorities starting from the attribute that has the highest negative gap value. Abstract

Nowadays, the trend of living healthily has been resurfaced that the treatment with natural ingredients has started to be popular again. The efforts to treat with traditional medicine serve as a form of community empowerment and an appropriate technology which could improve the level of public health. Riau Islands Province ranks ad the 28th place in terms of using Family Medicinal Plants, about 22%. According to the preliminary survey conducted in June 2024 in Kabil Village, Nongsa District, Batam City, the use of family medicinal plants is relatively small since there has only been a few families who grow medicinal plants in their yard. One alternative that can be taken to deal with this problem is to carry out the counseling program for the use of family medicinal plants. This activity is aimed at increasing participants' understanding the beneficial impacts of medicinal plants and to process involved. The method applied is a lecture followed by immediate discussion using leaflets involving the types, the uses and the processing of family medicinal plants. This activity has run quite well and the participants' were vividly enthusiastic when discussing with the source person and the resulting activities were capable of increasing the participants' understanding as it was shown by the increase in post-test scores in comparison with the previous one. It is advisable that the commuity leaders initiate the local residents through the planting of the family medicinal plants in their own yards or gardens.

Abstract

Hospital health promotion is an integral part of the healthcare system that plays a vital role in improving the quality of life of patients and the broader community. In various countries, hospitals not only serve as places for patient care but also act as health promotion centers responsible for disease prevention and enhancing public well-being through a variety of interventions and health education programs. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of health promotion strategies implemented in hospitals, focusing on patient empowerment, medical staff empowerment, the use of alternative therapies, and health communication. The method used is a systematic literature review of 15 relevant articles. The findings indicate that empowering patients and medical personnel can improve the quality of care and patient satisfaction. Patient empowerment that involves them in care decision- making enhances their experience, while medical staff empowerment through training improves their effectiveness in carrying out health promotion. The use of alternative therapies has been shown to provide additional benefits in enhancing patient well-being. The study also found that effective communication between medical staff and patients plays a crucial role in improving patient understanding, treatment adherence, and their involvement in care decision-making. The conclusion of this study is that approaches based on patient and medical staff empowerment, along with effective communication, are effective strategies for enhancing the quality of health promotion in hospitals. The implications of this research include the development of hospital policies that support better empowerment and communication between patients and medical staff.

Abstract

Salah satu komponen penting pada tubuh manusia adalah darah. Darah menjadi alat utama untuk distribusi, transportasi dan sirkulasi di dalam tubuh. Rata-rata jumlah volume darah manusia berkisar antara 6-8% dari berat tubuh atau 5 liter yang terdiri dari komponen plasma darah (55%) dan eritrosit (45%). Persediaan darah menjadi sangat penting bagi masyarakat yang sedang sakit dan membutuhkannya. Transfusi darah dibutuhkan oleh pasien yang mengalami kekurangan darah akibat kecelakaan, pasien yang sedang operasi besar, pasien yang memiliki penyakit darah seperti leukimia, hemofilia dan thalassemia. Masyarakat Indonesia memiliki tanggung jawab dan peran penting melakukan kegiatan donor darah supaya persediaan darah di PMI tetap terjaga. Kegiatan donor darah dapat menjunjung tinggi semangat kebersamaan dan nilai kemanuasiaan untuk membantu seluruh umat manusia yang berasal dari latar belakang yang berbeda-beda. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah, memberikan informasi pada peserta tentang pentingnya perawatan pasca donor darah,memberikan informasi pada peserta tentang tips dan langkah – langkah pemulihan, emberikan informasi pada peserta tentang tanda – tanda yang perlu diwaspadai, memberikan informasi pada peserta tentang rekomendasi frekuensi donor darah. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat tentang Upaya Optimalisasi kesehatan Tubuh Pasca Donor Darah: Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Berbasis Edukasi dan Pemantauan ini berlokasi di Kampus Institut Kesehatan dan Teknologi Kartini Batam. Khalayak sasaran untuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah peserta donor darah yang berjumlah 31 orang. Sebanyak 92% peserta menyatakan belum pernah mendapatkan edukasi sebelumnya mengenai upaya menjaga kesehatan tubuh setelah donor darah. Setelah diberikan edukasi, 85% peserta menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya konsumsi makanan bergizi (khususnya tinggi zat besi dan vitamin C), istirahat cukup, dan hidrasi yang optimal pasca donor. Media edukasi yang dibagikan dalam bentuk leaflet dan tayangan video pendek mendapat tanggapan positif dari 89% peserta. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa edukasi pasca donor darah sangat dibutuhkan, karena mayoritas peserta belum pernah mendapatkan informasi tersebut sebelumnya. Edukasi kesehatan yang diberikan secara sederhana dan praktis mampu meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan peserta untuk menjaga kondisi tubuhnya. Pemantauan kondisi tubuh selama 7 hari pasca donor memberikan gambaran bahwa gejala ringan umum seperti lemas dan pusing dapat dikelola dengan baik melalui asupan nutrisi yang tepat dan istirahat cukup. Hal ini sejalan dengan temuan dari beberapa penelitian yang menyebutkan bahwa pendonor darah yang mendapat edukasi dan dukungan pemantauan mengalami pemulihan lebih cepat dan lebih siap untuk melakukan donor ulang secara rutin. Program pengabdian masyarakat bertema “Upaya Optimalisasi Kesehatan Tubuh Pasca Donor Darah: Program Berbasis Edukasi dan Pemantauan” berhasil dilaksanakan dengan melibatkan pendonor darah dari berbagai latar belakang. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa edukasi sederhana mengenai asupan gizi, hidrasi, dan istirahat pasca donor darah mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta secara signifikan dan membantu mereka dalam proses pemulihan.
