Abstract

ABSTRAKIlmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) berkaitan dengan cara mencari tahu tentang alam secara sistematis, sehingga IPA bukan hanya penguasaan kumpulan pengetahuan yang berupa fakta-fakta, konsepkonsep,atau prinsip-prinsip saja. Proses pembelajarannya menekanzkan pada pemberianpengalaman langsung untuk mengembangkan kompetensi agar menjelajahi dan memahami alamsekitar secara ilmiah. Pendidikan IPA diarahkan untuk inkuiri dan berbuat sehingga dapatmembantu peserta didik untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang alamsekitar. Sesuai dengan teori pembelajaran konstruktivisme oleh Piaiget.

Abstract

Pendekatan  saintifik memberikan kesempatan pada siswa untuk aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan saintifik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA materi pengukuran.. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan di kelas VII SMP Taman Pendidikan Islam Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes.  Analisis data menggunakan perhitungan persentase ketuntasan kemampuan  berpikir kritis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 42% dan siklus II sebesar 89%. Oleh karena itu, terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis  siswa yaitu sebesar 47 %. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bawa pendekatan saintifik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi pengukuran di SMP Taman Pendidikan Islam Medan

Abstract

Mastery of concepts in chemistry lessons it is important to note, byteachers of chemistry. Therefore, this study was aimed to evaluate the concept of understanding acid -base using a multiple-choice assessment type two tier. So that teachers are able to measure the students ' understanding about the mastery of acid-base conceptas reference materials for teachers to continueto correct the learning in the classroom.  A number of 15 items about the concept of acid-base was designedusing multiple choice two tier test tested to 11th graders in the even semester. The method used in this study using descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted in senior high school 19 Medan with population 159. The sampling technique was done by random sampling. Data analysis technique used description of data obtained from result of student answer. The results of the data analysis obtained as amount as 47% or there are seven items which answered correctly in the first tierwith the lowestcategory, 47% or there are seven items which answered correctly in both tierswith medium category, and only one question answered correctly on both tiers with high category. Percentage of students' understanding of the concept of acid-base using two tier diagnostic tests is 35 people or 47% in the low category, 40 persons or 53% in the medium category, while the highercategory is 0%. Keywords:       identification,chemistry assessment, two-tier tests, acids and bases concept.

Abstract

In this study, the learning process was carried out using a scientific approach, then measuring the students' interest in science lessons and science process skills. This study aims to: 1) Determine the level of student interest in science lessons using a scientific approach, 2) Investigate the effect of the scientific approach on students' science process skill levels, 3) Investigate the relationship between interest in science lessons and science process skills. The research method used in this study is descriptive and associative correlational survey research methods. The instruments used in this study consisted of 1) questionnaire on the level of students' interest in science, 2) interview sheets, 3) Science Process Skills Test. The samples of this research were 45 students of AnNizam grade VII. The results showed that the investigation of the majority level of student interest was 52% at a high level, the results of examining the effect of scientific learning on process skills using the independent sample t-test obtained tcount > ttable, namely 6.16 > 1.68. The simple regression investigation found a strong relationship between interest and science process skills of about 0.63.

Abstract

Learning by practicum method is a way of delivering learning material by providing opportunities to the students to practicein order to make the students engage in planned and active learning experiences so that students' interest grows on chemistry subject. The population in this study were the students of XI class at YAPSI Senior High School in Medan. The sampling technique is done by using the Quota sampling technique. The instruments were the student’s interests in questionnaire and student activeness observation sheet. The requirements test is in the form of normality test and homogeneity test with the value of Lcount = 0.663 initial interests data and Lcount = 0.172 final interests data which means the data is normally distributed. In the homogeneity test Fcount = 0.233 initial interests data and Fcount = 0.449 final interests data with homogeneous results. The data analysis technique was done by using the hypothesis t test and N-gain test. The results showed that the hand soap making practice with the addition of pineapple extract (Ananas comosus L.. Merr) had an influence on students’ learning interest with N-gain of 7.6 in experimental class data and N-gain of 5.4 in control class data and from the t hypothesis test obtained Tcount> Ttable which Tcount = 6.90 and Ttable at level 0.05 is 2.01 so Ho is accepted, which means that there was an influence of the handsoap making practice with the addition of pineapple skin extract (Ananas comosus L. Abstract

Abstract. This study was aimed to obtain innovative teaching material based on multimedia to learning the pH solution which can improve learning outcomes and student motivation. The population of this research was all of the even semester students of the State University of Medan (UNIMED). The research sample was taken by using the purposive random samplingwith ± 76 students as the samples who were studying General Chemistry II course at the UNIMED consisting of two classes, the experimental class and the control class. The experiment class used innovative teaching materials that have been developed while the control class used the chemistry student handbook. Five lecturers from the UNIMED and the North Sumatera Islamic University (UISU) were appointed as the validators of the developed innovative teaching materials. The results showed that: (1) the chemistry books that were analyzed gave an average 49,67% which is considered adequate and do not need any revision. However,there are some shortcomings in each book that needs to be developed, (2) the components which are integrated into the developed innovative teaching materials were the integration of the learning model and methods, laboratory activities, campus outside activities, the video and animation multimedia learning materials created using the flip book maker software, (3) the assessment results from the expert validator toward the developed innovative teaching materials is 4,35 which is considered valid and do not need any revision, while the assessment result from the multimedia lecturers 4,4 which is considered valid and do not need any revision, (4) the student learning outcomes that used the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning pH solution is higher than the outcomes of the students who used the student handbook with tcount >ttable (4,70 > 1,99), (5) the effectiveness of applying the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning the pH solution showed the student learning outcomes improved to 78%, and (6) the students gave positive feedback and response to the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning pH solution with the average acquisition value 4,05 which means that it is proper to use. Abstract

Modul multimedia merupakan salah satu media yang dapat digunakan pada proses pembelajaran. Modul multimedia juga dapat dimodifikasi dengan model pembelajaran seperti TGT. Pada penelitian ini disarankan modul multimedia berbasis TGT pada materi peran ilmu kimia dalam kehidupan diberikan kepada siswa kelas X MAN 4 Medan dengan merujuk kepada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan model 4-D, yang meliputi tahap (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop, (3) Disseminate. Tingkat kelayakan modul multimedia berbasis TGT telah di validasi oleh para ahli dan uji coba skala kecil Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket dan tes. Teknik analisis data meliputi analisis data produk, uji normalitas dan uji sample t-test. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh adanya peningkatan hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,177% dan pada kelas control sebesar 0,198%. Hasil uji T menunjukkan Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak.Kata kunci: Modul multimedia berbasis TGT, hasil belajar, peran ilmu kimia dalam kehidupan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning) terhadap hasil belajar kimia siswa pada materi stoikiometri larutan menggunakan media handout dan modul. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 (media handout)  dan siswa kelas XI IPA 3 (media modul) di SMA Nurul Amaliyah Deli Serdang. Telah dilakukan uji normalitas data pada kelas eksperimen I menggunakan handout dan pada kelas eksperimen II menggunakan modul dan diperoleh data berdistribusi normal. Pada uji homogenitas kedua kelas sampel homogen. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan statistik yang menggunakan uji t (hipotesis) satu pihak pada taraf kepercayaan  α = 0,05 diperoleh  harga thitung = 5,8 dan dk = 58 dengan harga ttabel = 1,99 dan diperoleh thitung ttabel. Hasil yang  disimpulkan Ha diterima  dan Ho ditolak yang berarti ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara yang dibelajarkan menggunakan handout dan yang dibelajarkan menggunakan modul.Kata kunci: Problem Based Learning, handout, modul, Stoikiometri, dan hasil belajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan yang menunjukan guru masih kesulitan dalam membuat perangkat pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan suatu produk perangkat pembelajaran berupa RPP dan MODUL berbasis saintifik untuk materi hukum hukum dasar kimia siswa kelas X Sekolah Menengah Atas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (RD). Langkah-langkah pengembangan penelitian ini (1) analisis kebutuhan, (2) penelitian dan pengumpulan data, (3) pengembangan produk awal, (4) evaluasi, (5) revisi, (6) penyempurnaan produk akhir. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket untuk memvalidasi kualitas perangkat pembelajaran berbasis saintifik oleh pakar pembelajaran dan guru kelas X Sekolah Menengah Atas. Perangkat pembelajaran berbasis saintifik ini dilakukan dengan pengujian atas keterpakain RPP yang dibuat oleh peneliti dan dapat digunakan oleh siswa kelas X serta dikembangkan dengan sangat baik dan layaknya digunakan berdasarkan validasi pakar pembelajaran ahli materi dengan skor 83% dan pakar media dengan skor 82%.  Penilaian perangkat pembelajaran berbasis saintifik sangat layak digunakan berdasarkan validasi guru kelas X dengan skor 85%.

Abstract

Model kooperatif STAD merupakan pembelajaran berkelompok dan memberikan kesempatan siswa berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi sosial dengan temannya mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model kooperatif STAD dengan Modul dan Handout. Populasi berjumlah 50 siswa. Kelas XI IPA1menjadi kelas eksperimen I dan kelas XI IPA2 kelas eksperimen II. Data berdistribusi normal yaitu Lhitung ˂ Ltabel (0,1745˂0,175) untuk post-test kelas eksperimen I dan Lhitung ˂ Ltabel (0,1261˂0,175) untuk post-test kelas eksperimen II. Uji Homogenitas diperoleh Fhitung ˂ Ftabel (1,24˂2,04 pada hasil post-test menyatakan kemampuan populasi homogen.Nilai rata-rata postest kelas eksperimen I, x = 80 dengan standar deviasi (S)= 5,761. Nilai rata-rata post-test eksperimen II, x = 80dengan (S) = 5,161. Uji hipotesis pre-test thitung ttabel yaitu 1,452,007 maka H0 diterima, nilai postes thitung ttabel yaitu 2,632,007 maka H0 diterima.
