Abstract

This study aimed to look at the polarization of development and community participation based on the Pokdarwis Nagari Lawang, sub-district of Matur, Agam district, West Sumatera. This research used qualitative method with case study type. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interview and Focus Group Discussion (FDG) The findings indicate that the success of Pokdarwis in carrying out participatory-based tourism development is due to good cooperation between Pokdarwis, the government, and nagari community. Pokdarwis as a facilitator in connecting the wishes of the community with the private sector, as well as the government as a supervisory and advisory agency in tourism development. Community involvement is not only in formal socialization, but Pokdarwis is also active in listening to the needs of the community through the lapau with the niniak-mamak of Nagari Lawang. The participation-based tourism development can be used as a guide for other regional Pokdarwis to build their tourism potential, namely by not forgetting the community as the main element of regional or nagari development.

Abstract

Economic transactions titled sexuality have long been a commodity traded by the public since the colonial period. Prostitution is a classic problem that remains unresolved in Indonesia. Present prostitution becomes a paradox in the modern life of connoisseurs of globalization, so what is happening now is the commodification of prostitution which is called online prostitution. This paper focuses on describing the commodification of online prostitution as a critique of globalization that utilizes platforms/applications/websites to attract customers who are certainly different from conventional prostitution by borrowing the concept of commodification from Karl Marx. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive type. The results of the research describe that the presence of globalization constructs the commodification of prostitution by the mechanism of using online media as a means to launch such activities. Globalization from a critical perspective must be seen as one of the threats that can attack cultural communities in the midst of the battle of digitalization in Indonesia. In wading through this problem, we certainly still must oversee all policies and good cooperation with various parties to be able to minimize the strong development of globalization, starting from strengthening legal standing, using social media wisely, to monitoring from various parties to be able to oversee all the bad possibilities that will occur through the vehicle of globalization.

Abstract

Schools become one of the secondary socialization agents that children get. Unfortunately, schools are a place that is prone to sexual violence. Therefore, it is necessary to socialize the prevention of sexual violence in schools so that schools become safe spaces for children to continue their education. This activity is beneficial for schools to raise awareness of the importance of preventing sexual violence. Service activities were conducted using counselling and focused group discussions—the place of activity at State High School 15, Padang. Prevention of sexual violence in schools can be done by empowering students to become agents of change. State High School 15, Padang, has an anti-bullying ambassador who can also function as an anti-sexual violence ambassador at school. Cases of sexual violence must be prevented by involving various parties, ranging from schools, students, and families. Socialization activities on anti-sexual violence values ​​need to be carried out continuously among school students so that they become part of their behaviour. Anti-sexual violence values ​​that have been internalized will make students behave spontaneously to reject acts of sexual violence.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the subjective meanings of Gen Z Minangkabaus in West Sumatra in finding a mate and what popular cultural narratives produce these subjective meanings in the digital era. The method used in this research is to use a qualitative approach with a case study type. The data collection techniques used are observation and in-depth interviews. The data will be analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis techniques with codification, data presentation, and conclusion. The research will be analyzed using late-modernity studies from Ulrich Beck as a representation of society in the digital era and religion as a sacred canopy from Peter L Berger. Studies show that Gen Z Minangkabaus in West Sumatra still have an attachment to the family in finding a partner, such as paying attention to the origin of the partner's family

Abstract

This article seeks to observe the modernization of economic institutions that were originally working traditionally, into alternative economic institutions that continue to apply the value of locality. Previous studies on LPN Limau Manis only discussed its role in poverty alleviation and the management of its economic organization, but did not provide a comprehensive explanation of the transformation of LPN that combines traditional and modern concepts. This article argues that the institutional modernization of LPN Limau Manis that occurs remains attached to the customary values of the Nagari society. The qualitative method was used to collect data using a case study research. This article revealed that the LPN, which underwent a transformation into a modern management system, remained attached to the social conditions of Nagari society as seen from the social profit-based approach. Abstract

This paper aims to explain the contribution of tourism development developed in the geoparks area with the concept of geotourism. The Ranah Minang Silokek geopark area in Sijunjung Regency is attractive and has developed destinations in the form of geodiversity, biodiversity, and cultural diversity. Although tourism can generally produce a sustainable life, cultural and heritage tourism can have a positive or negative impact on people's lives significantly. Thus, the extent of the contribution of sustainable tourism development through tourism in Silokek Geoparks. Through qualitative methods and a narrative approach, it can be seen the objects in Silokek developed as geotourism based on sustainable tourism development. This shows that the development of geotourism can give a good impact, not only supporting economic growth (community and government) but as a basis for efforts to preserve and protect natural and geological landscapes as the main headline of the Silokek geoparks. So that the perspective changes that geotourism is the antithesis of mass tourism that has contributed to the principles of geoparks (Unesco Global Geoparks Network).

Abstract

The article aims to look at the influence of the experience of remarriage based on age, gender, employment sector, and level of education. This research uses secondary data analysis of the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS), namely book IIIA and book IV. The statistical test carried out is a regression test to seehow far is the relationship between remarriage experience and age, gender, occupation, and education using STATA software. The research results show thatFactors related to the experience of remarriage, including age, gender, employment level, and education, show that education level has the most significant decreasing impact. More specifically, individuals with higher education experience a 0.11 point decrease in the likelihood of remarrying. The p-value related to this finding is 0.0001.

Abstract

Demokrasi memberikan kesempatan luas kepada seluruh warga negara dalam memenuhi syarat untuk memilih dan dipilih sebagai perwakilan masyarakat tanpa adanya diskriminasi suku, ras, agama dan gender. Hal ini dikuatkan dengan kebijakan afirmasi dari pemerintah yang menetapkan ketentuan kuota 30 persen bagi perempuan untuk menduduki jabatan dalam politik diatur oleh Undang-Undang Nomor 10 Tahun 2008 mengenai Pemilihan Umum anggota DPR, DPD, dan DPRD, demikian juga dengan UU No. 2 Tahun 2008 tentang Partai Politik. UU tersebut mengatur partai peserta Pemilu menyertakan 30 persen keterwakilan perempuan dalam pencalonan anggota legislatif yaitu pada Pasal 8 ayat (1), salah satunya adalah huruf (d) yaitu: “melibatkan keterwakilan perempuan minimal 30% (tiga puluh perseratus) sebagai kepengurusan partai politik tingkat pusat”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi partai politik dalam meningkatkan keterwakilan perempuan dalam pencalonan anggota legislatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskiptif kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitiann ini ditentukan dengan purposive sampling, sehingga peneliti mengambil tiga partai politik yaitu, Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS), Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP), dan Partai Golongan Karya (GOLKAR) sebagai informan. Perolehan data lapangan dihasilkan dengan teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan teknik wawancara mendalam. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data hingga tahap kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa peran partai politik cukup besar untuk meningkatkan keterwakilan perempuan dalam pencalonan anggota legislative. Peran tersebut dilihat dari berbagai strategi yang dilakukan partai untuk meningkatkan keterwakilan perempuan. Strategi tersebut dibangun melalui pendekatan berikut: pendekatan organisasi perempuan, pendekatan tokoh masyarakat, dan pendekatan program pemberdayaan masyarakat.
