Abstract

Antioxidant activity with flavonoids has a strong relationship because it is influenced by the functional groups attached to the main structure. This study aims to determine the effect of solvents and extraction methods used on total flavonoid levels and antioxidant activity of gedong mango leaf extract. Gedong manggo was extracted using teh MAE-NADES combination method (sodium acetate and lactic acid solvents 1:3 in distilled water until temperature reached 70 ). Gedong mango were extracted in terms of temperature and time (80 :20', 80 :10', 60 :20', 60 :10'). Next, the value of total flavonoid content and antioxidant activity was determined for the extract. The results showed that gedong mango leaf extract had high total flavonoid content values, with respective values of 80 :20' 6.5994%, 80 :10' 5.5504%, 60 :20' 5.0890%, and 60 :10' 3.8902%. In addition, gedong mango leaf extract has antioxidant activity, with IC50  value of 80 :20 ' 21.666 ppm, 80 :10' 39.734 ppm , 60 :20' 61.687 ppm, and 60 :10' 135.487 ppm. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the MAE method using NADES solvent has values for total flavonoid levels and antioxidant activity. The best gedong mango leaf extract was at temperature and time of 80:20 '. Where the total value of flavonoids is directly proportional to the antioxidant activity, the higher the value of the flavonoid compounds produced, the higher the antioxidant activity.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kegiatan ini berawal dari permasalahan yang dialami masyarakat di Perumahan Sembungharjo Semarang yang (1) sebagian di antara mereka merasakan kegemukan di usia yang semakin bertambah, (2) ketidaktahuan masyarakat tentang pentingnya pengukuran antropometri dan komposisi tubuh, dan (3) kurangnya ketrampilan masyarakat dalam menjaga kesehatan dengan memonitor antopometri tubuhnya masing-masing. Tujuan: (1) meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pentingnya pengukuran antopometri dan komposisi tubuh, (2) meningkatkan ketrampilan masyarakat dalam memonitor antropometri tubuhnya masing-masing, dan (3) meningkatkan self-efficacy masyarakat untuk memperbaiki status gizinya dengan self-monitoring antropometri. Kegiatan yang dilakukan antara lain: (1) Pengukuran antropometri tubuh, (2) Sosialisasi tentang penentuan status gizi menggunakan data antropometri, (3) Pengukuran komposisi tubuh, (4) Penyukuhan tentang pentingnya pengukuran antropometri dan komposisi tubuh dikaitkan dengan risiko penyakit, (5) Pelatihan melakukan pengukuran lingkar perut, dan (6) Diskusi dan konsultasi tentang kesehatan dan obat. Terdapat 70 orang berusia 15 – 74 tahun yang berpartisipasi pada kegiatan ini, namun hanya 53 orang yang mengembalikan kuesioner untuk menilai tingat pengetahuan tentang pengukuran antopometri dan komposisi tubuh. Sebagian besar (>60%) dapat menjawab pertanyaan dengan benar. Hasil antropometi didapatkan rerata IMT 26,1 ± 4,0 kg/m2 dan lebih dari 60% obesitas dengan massa lemak yang lebih tinggi dari normal. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang antropometri dan komposisi tubuh cukup baik. Status gizi masyarakat sebagian besar obesitas dan obesits sentral dengan massa lemak tergolong sangat tinggi. Kata Kunci: Antropometri, Status Gizi, Komposisi Tubuh, Massa Lemak  ABSTRACT This activities began with the problems experienced by the community in the Sembungharjo Housing Complex, Semarang, e.g. (1) some of them felt obese as they got older, (2) the public's ignorance about the importance of anthropometric and body composition measurements , and (3) lack of community skills in maintaining health by monitoring the anthropometry of their respective bodies. (1) increase community knowledge about the importance of anthropometric measurements and body composition, (2) increase community skills in monitoring the anthropometry of their own bodies, and (3) increase community self-efficacy to improve their nutritional status by self-monitoring anthropometry. Activities carried out include: (1) Anthropometric body measurements, (2) Socialization about determining nutritional status using anthropometric data, (3) Body composition measurements, (4) Education about the importance of anthropometric measurements and body composition in relation to disease risk, (5) Training in measuring abdominal circumference, and (6) Discussion and consultation about health and medicine. There were 70 people aged 15 – 74 years who participated in this activity, but only 53 people returned questionnaires to assess their level of knowledge about anthropometric measurements and body composition. Most (>60%) were able to answer the questions correctly. Anthropometric results showed a mean BMI of 26.1 ± 4.0 kg/m2 and more than 60% obesity with a fat mass higher than normal. The knowledge about anthropometry and body composition was quite good. The nutritional status of the majority of people was obese and central obese with very high fat body mass. Keywords: Anthropometry, Nutritional Status, Body Composition, Fat Mass

Abstract

Asam mefenamat merupakan anti nyeri golongan Obat Antiinflamasi Non Steroid (OAINs), dengan mekanisme kerja menghambat enzim siklooksigenase (COX). Formulasi menggunakan suspending agent Pulvis Gummi Arabicum (PGA) konsentrasi 7,5% dan menggunakan Sorbitol 9% untuk sediaan 60 ml. Uji mutu fisik yang dilakukan yaitu uji organoleptis, uji pH, uji Bobot jenis dan uji viskositas, dan dilakukan penetapan kadar asam mefenamat dalam suspensi.. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah asam mefenamat dapat diformulasikan sebagai suspensi., Untuk Mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh perbedaan kadar Pulvis Gummi Arabicum (PGA) dan konsentrasi optimum sebagai suspending agent terhadap stabilitas suspensi asam mefenamat. dan Untuk mengetahui kadar asam mefenamat dalam suspense. Metode yang digunakan merupakan penelitian kuantitaif dengan desain penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium dengan menggunakan SLD (Simple Latix Design) untuk menentukan formula optimum.; Hasil yang diperoleh suspensi asammefenamat dengan suspending agent PGA 7,5% dievaluasi selama 30 hari memenuhi kriteria stabil dengan uji meliputi organoleptis, uji pH, uji Viskositas, dan uji bobot jenis. Uji Organoleptis dengan warna kuning (lemon), bau Lemon,bentuk Cair , dan pH 5-5,07, viskositas 120-160 cps, dan bobot jenis >1 g/ml. dan hasil uji penetapan kadar suspensi mengandung asammefenamat 92-105%. ; Kesimpulan yang diperoleh asam mefenamat dapat diformulasikan sebagai suspense , dan stabil dalam pengujian organoleptis, pH, Bobot jenis, dan viskositas. Konsentrasi PGA yang paling berpengaruh dan stabil adalah 7,5%, dan hasil penetapan kadar dari suspense asamefenamat yang dibuat adalah 92-105% dengan rata rata kadar yaitu 99,3 % asam asam mefenamat.

Abstract

Kulit merupakan organ tubuh yang mempunyai letak paling luar dan terbesar pada manusia. Kulit berfungsi sebagai lapisan penghalang untuk melindungi tubuh terhadap pengaruh lingkungan. Paparan kronis terhadap radiasi UV dapat menimbulkan banyak efek samping pada kulit, seperti penuaan dini, kanker kulit, dan penurunan kemampuan respon imun. Antioksidan adalah salah satu zat yang dapat memberikan perlindungan endogen dan tekanan oksidatif eksogen dengan menangkap radikal bebas. Daun gedi (Abelmoschus manihot L) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang mengandung flavonoid yang dapat berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan yang dapat menangkal radikal bebas pada kulit. Sediaan sirup ditujukan untuk memudahkan konsumsi atau penggunaannya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk didapatkan sirup antioksidan dari ekstrak daun gedi yang optimum. Sirup dibuat dengan zat pengental berupa kombinasi CMC-Na dan Sukrosa. Metode ekstrasi yang digunakan yaitu maserasi sedangkan untuk optimasi formulasi menggunakan SLD. Dari penelitian didapatkan formasi optimum sirup daun gedi kombinasi CMC-Na 0,25% dan sukrosa 0,75%. Kombinasi CMC-Na dan sukrosan dapat meningkatkan viskositas, namun tidak mempengaruhi rasa, warna dan bau dari sirup.

Abstract

Lip balm is used on lips that require protection, such as when humidity is low, to prevent the evaporation of water and epithelial cells on the lip mucosa. The active substance used in making this lip balm is Sancha inchi oil, which is a cold-pressed oil from the seeds of Plukenetia volubilista. This oil contains omega 3 (40–50%) and omega 6 (30–40%), as well as lower oleic acid (10%) than olive oil. Natural antioxidants, including tocopherols and polyphenols, have also been found in Sacha Inchi oil. Sacha inchi oil has a fatty acid ratio and phytochemical composition, it can be used as a cosmetic ingredient as an emollient and skin protector. An experimental laboratory method was used for this study. The research was carried out by preparing lip balm from various ingredients containing the active ingredient Sacha inchi oil (Plukenetia volubilis L) at a concentration of 15%, as well as varying concentrations of cera alba (range 5-25%) and lanolin (range 2-10%) as bases and additional ingredients for preparations, whose optimization had been determined using the simplex lattice design method. The aim of this study was to identify the lip balm formulation from Sacha inchi oil and identify the effect of changes in the concentration of cera alba and lanolin based on the results of the preparation evaluation. Abstract

Background: Zinc Oxide (ZnO) is a white sunscreen ingredient used to protect the skin layer from exposure to ultraviolet rays so that it can be used as an active ingredient in sunscreen. Powdered sunscreen preparations are fine and light powders that can provide a thin layer on the skin so that they are effective when used for faces with makeup. The purpose of this study was to formulate and provide physical preparations of zinc oxide powdered sunscreen with varying concentrations to see the best physical characteristics. Methods: This research is experimental in nature using 3 variations of zinc oxide concentrations of 5% (F1), 10% (F2), and 15% (F3) by evaluating the physical preparation including organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, fineness tests and stability tests. Results: The results of this study were obtained in the three formulas having the physical characteristics of a typical rosae odor, yellowish white in color, smooth texture, homogeneous dispersed powder, and stable in storage. In the pH test of sunscreen powder preparations, the concentration variations F1, F2, and F3 each obtained pH values of 5.24: 6.67, 7.31 respectively so that F3 meets the requirements for skin pH values in the range of 4 - 5.5. Conclusion: This study can conclude that the sunscreen powder that has the best characteristics is formula 1 with a zinc oxide concentration of 5%.

Abstract

Thymus vulgaris L. essential oil contains the active compound thymol which has the potential as an antimicrobial, and peppermint essential oil contains menthol which has the potential to reduce the growth of Streptococcus mutans microorganisms. Based on the properties of these two ingredients, it is formulated in the form of toothpaste preparations. Methods method used quantitative research with laboratory experimental research Design using SLD (Simple Latix Design) with varying concentrations of Na CMC and SLS. SLD results results of 8 formulas obtained the optimum formula at a concentration of 1% NaCMC and 2% SLS and a result of 1,000. desirabiliti 1.000. Predictions based on SLD obtained a viscosity test of 21364.2 cPs, pH 9.00303, spreadability 4.3021 cm, and spreadability 4.3021 cm. Spreadability 4.3021 cm, foam height 12.6535 mm and One sample t test results (p>0.05) showed the results were not significantly different. showed the results were not significantly different. The results of the stability test for 3 cycles were tested organoleptical test has a white color, a distinctive smell of mint, a semi-solid texture and does not change for 3 cycles. changes for 3 cycles, ph test, spreadability test, foam height test and voiscosity test show results in accordance with the requirements based on the One Way ANOVA test results show (p>0.05) which means the results are not significantly different for 3 cycles. means the results are not significantly different for 3 cycles. In conclusion, all formulasin this study meet the required criteria for toothpaste preparations and the most optimum paste consistency is the Na variation. The most optimum paste consistency is the variation of Na CMC 1% and SLS 2%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pemanfaatan tanaman obat di Taman Tanaman Obat Tradisional (TOGA) merupakan salah satu realisasi dari program pangan, kesehatan, dan perencanaan sehat dari kader Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan kader PKK dalam mengolah daun katuk sebagai minuman herbal pencegah anemia. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi: sosialisasi tentang manfaat klorofil daun katuk dalam mencegah anemia dan pelatihan pembuatan minuman herbal dari daun katuk. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 15 orang kader PKK RW 08 Kelurahan Sembungharjo, Kecamatan Genuk, Kota Semarang Evaluasi keberhasilan program dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan kuesioner tingkat pengetahuan dan ketrampilan sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Dampak pelatihan terhadap pencegahan anemia diamati berdasarkan pengukuran kadar hemoglobin warga RW 08 sebanyak 70 orang sebelum dan sesudah PkM. Tingkat pengetahuan dan ketrampilan kader PKK RW 08 mengenai pemanfaatan daun katuk meningkat dari 60% menjadi 90%. Hasil pengukuran kadar hemoglobin menunjukkan terdapat penurunan jumlah warga yang mengalami anemia dari yang semula 27% menjadi 19,4%. Hasil PkM ini diharapkan dapat mendukung kemandirian penyediaan minuman herbal antianemia bagi keluraga dengan memanfaatkan daun katuk.Abstract: The utilization of medicinal plants in the Traditional Medicinal Plant Garden (TOGA) is one realization of the food, health, and wellness planning program led by Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) cadres. This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of PKK cadres in processing katuk leaves into an herbal drink to prevent anemia. The methods of the activity include: educating participants about the benefits of katuk leaf chlorophyll in preventing anemia and training them to make herbal drinks from katuk leaves. Fifteen PKK cadres from RW 08, Sembungharjo Village, Genuk District, Semarang City, participated in this program. Program success was evaluated through questionnaires measuring knowledge and skills before and after the training. The impact of the training on anemia prevention was observed based on hemoglobin measurements of 70 RW 08 residents before and after the community service activity. The knowledge and skills level of RW 08 PKK cadres regarding the use of katuk leaves increased from 60% to 90%. Hemoglobin measurements showed a decrease in the number of residents with anemia, from 27% to 19.4%. The results of this community service activity are expected to support the self-sufficiency of families in providing anti-anemia herbal drinks by utilizing katuk leaves.

Abstract

Peran serta masyarakat, terutama dalam pembentukan kader "Cegah Anemia," sangat dibutuhkan sebagai bentuk keterlibatan komunitas dalam mendukung keberlanjutan program. Keterlibatan aktif warga dibutuhkan untuk membangun kesadaran dan kepedulian bersama terhadap kesehatan komunitas, khususnya dalam mencegah anemia dan hipertensi. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) adalah pemeriksaan kadar Hb dan penyuluhan kesehatan untuk mengatasi anemia. Tempat di Perumahan Sembungharjo Permai, Genuk, Kota Semarang dengan peserta 67 orang. Hasil pengukuran tekanan darah menunjukkan bahwa kondisi pra hipertensi (tekanan sistolik 120-139 mmHg dan diastolik / 80-89 mmHg) dialami oleh 19,4% peserta (laki-laki) dan 23,9% peserta (perempuan). Data kadar hemoglobin menunjukkkan bahwa anemia ringan dialami oleh 4,5% peserta laki-laki, dan 17,9% peserta wanita. Pemeriksaan tekanan darah,  kadar hemoglobin, konsultasi, dan edukasi kesehatan bermanfaat bagi warga sebagai skrining awal penyakit hipertensi dan anemia, serta upaya pencegahannya. Hasil PkM ini diharapkan dapat menurunkan prevalensi stunting dan anemia di Indonesia.  Upaya berkelanjutan yang mendukung program pencegahan anemia dan stunting perlu dilakukan secara sistematis dan menyeluruh.
