VCO contains medium chain fatty acids (MCFA), which consist of lauric acid, capric acid, caprylic acid and myristic acid. The quality of VCO is determined by lauric acid, its levels reach 45%. This study aims to determine the effect of extra virgin coconut oil on diaper rash in infants at the Pratama Kasih Ibu clinic, Deli Tua, Deli Serdang Regency in 2022. Abstract

ABSTRACT Childbirth is the most awaited thing by pregnant women, but on the other hand it is a thrilling thing. Pain that makes the desired happiness filled with fear and anxiety. Several studies have shown that primitive people experience longer and painful labor, while people who have advanced give birth without pain and most (90%) deliveries are accompanied by pain (Elly S, 2017). Pain during labor has an impact on increasing the activity of the sympathetic nervous system which results in nausea and vomiting, excessive sweating, and changes in blood pressure, pulse, breathing, and skin color. One effort to minimize labor pain is to use breathing relaxation techniques. This study aims to determine the effect of breathing relaxation techniques on reducing labor pain in the first stage of the active phase. The type of design used in this study was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The number of samples is 10 respondents. The technique of collecting sample data using purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire and a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) pain scale. From the results of the data before being given the deep breathing relaxation technique with a score of 2.60 (SD: 0.699) (min: 2) (max: 4) while after being given the breathing relaxation technique the score was 2.50 (SD: 0.707) (min: 1) (max: 3) means that inpartu mothers experience a decrease in labor pain in the active phase of the 1st stage. Wilcoxon test results obtained a Z value of 2.598 with a significant value of 0.009 < (0.05). So that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, this shows that there is an effect of deep breathing relaxation techniques on reducing labor pain in the active phase of the 1st stage at the Kasih Ibu Clinic, Deli Tua District, Deli Serdang Regency in 2022. Keywords: Breathing Relaxation Technique, First Stage of Labor Pain, Active Phase.

Abstract

Following childbirth, moms will undergo emotional fluctuations characterized by mood swings, anxiety, dizziness, and feelings of despair. Impaired maternal understanding of infant care can lead to psychological issues that impact the mother's physical well-being, including disrupted sleep patterns and reduced appetite. Failure to promptly manage anxiety in postpartum mothers can lead to the development of baby blues syndrome and postpartum depression. This study employs a Quasi Experiment design with a pre-posttest not include a control group to quantitatively investigate the impact of combining facial acupressure therapy with lavender aromatherapy on anxiety reduction in postpartum mothers. The investigation was conducted in Medan Tuntungan District, located in Medan City. One hundred postpartum women constituted the sample in this study. The data collection process involved administering treatment (facial acupressure therapy with lavender aromatherapy), followed by observation and interviews conducted using the HARS instrument. The analysis conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test revealed a negative ranks value of 94. This indicates that out of the 100 postpartum women who participated in the study, 94 mothers reported a reduction in anxiety levels. The positive rankings index is 0, indicating that none of the 100 postpartum moms who participated in the study reported a rise in anxiety levels. The tie value of 6 indicates that among the 100 postpartum moms who participated in the study, 6 mothers did not show any significant difference in anxiety levels before and after undergoing a combination of Facial Acupressure Therapy with Lavender Aromatherapy. Moreover, it is established that the significance value at this stage of analysis is 0.000 or greater than ? (0.05). Therefore, it can be inferred that there is a significant impact of the combination of Facial Acupressure Therapy with Lavender Aromatherapy on the reduction of anxiety levels in postpartum mothers.
