Abstract

The objectives of the study were to develop a self assessment instrument, its specific characteristics and its procedure and to analyse the consistency between the assessment of the students and the lecturer. This study was a research and development (R and D) using the R and D model offered by Borg and Gall. The samples of this study were 32 students who took the course of Fashion Technology II. They were selected with purposive sampling. The methods of data collection consisted of assessment sheets, rubrics, assessment procedures and scoring. The instrument used the content validity based on expert judgment and inter-rater reliability. The results of this study were: (1) The developed self assessment instruments that consist of the assessment sheets and the rubrics; (2) the assessment procedure was developed starting from the socialisation instrument and the observation instrument while the self assessment was started from preparation to results; (3) the consistency between the assessment of the students and the lecturer was rated by the Kappa coefficient of 0.69

Abstract

The integration of e-learning platforms in the higher education system has been around for a long time and is seen in line with the changes in Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). Realizing this, Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI), Malaysia has developed a Learning Management System (LMS) platform based on Technology Acceptance Model for its members to streamline learning and facilitating processes, namely MYGURU. The purpose of this study was to determine the applicability and attitude of the lecturers towards the used of MYGURU during the teaching, learning and facilitating process. Using a survey method, the study involved 734 and 248 lecturers who were selected using simple random sampling. The questionnaire was distributed by email in 2 months period. The results of this study found the mean score for MYGURU perceived usefulness and mean scores of lecturers' attitude to be at moderate level. The study of attitudes toward MYGURU used was modest, whereas the correlation test showed that there was a significant positive and moderate relationship between perceived usefulness and lecturers’ attitude. This study implies that developing a Learning Management System such as MYGURU requires continuous improvement in order to provide a better quality of higher education.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to determine the application procedure of the evaluation instrument of fashion drawing, to analyse the consistency of the evaluation results, and to determine the communicative reporting procedure of the evaluation results in the Department of Tourism of Vocational High Schools in Sleman regency, Yogyakarta. This study was categorised into a survey study. The population of this study were teachers and students. There were 30 samples selected with purposive sampling. There were six teachers as the assessors. The data collection techniques used consistency assessment instruments by examining the index of reliability. The report of the results of Drawing Fashion Design assessment was shown in the profile of the students. The data was analysed using quantitative descriptive with percentages. The consistency of the assessment was examined using cronbach alpha analysis. While the reporting procedure was analysed descriptively based on the calculation of the final score. The results of the study were the application procedure of the evaluation instrument that is started with the preparation of the teachers to provide the assessment instruments that includes the materials, the grid, the test items and the rubric. Based on the criteria, it is in the very good category with a mean score of 56.83. The consistency of the assessment results is in a good category with a mean score of 0,800. Based on the competency profile, The mean score of the students’ assessment result was 77, 3. With the minimum score of 70, it was proved that all of the samples of this study were categorised into competent in fashion drawing.

Abstract

Membordir merupakan salah satu teknik menghias kain yang dikerjakan  menggunakan mesin jahit atau mesin bordir. Namun seiring dengan perkembangan jaman, teknik membordir dapat menggunakan komputer. Menurut Heri Suhersono (2004:7), bordir sebagai salah satu kerajinan ragam hias (untuk aksesoris berbagai busana) yang menitik beratkan pada keindahan dan komposisi warna benang pada medium berbagai kain dengan alat bantu seperangkat mesin jahit (mesin jahit bordir) atau mesin jahit bordir komputer. Menurut Goet Poespa (2005:7) bordir adalah suatu elemen untuk mengubah penampilan kain dengan aneka setik bordir, baik yang dibuat dengan menggunakan tangan atau mesin. Jika setik ragam hias dibuat dengan menggunakan tangan, maka keterampilan itu disebut “sulam”. Sedangkan bila dilakukan dengan menggunakan mesin maka disebut “bordir”.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain untuk mengetahui: (1) Kualitas Acacia Nilotica L. (daun oncit) sebagai pewarna kain sutera ditinjau dari ketahanan luntur berdasarkan pada perubahan warna akibat pencucian, (2) Kualitas Acacia Nilotica L. (daun oncit) sebagai pewarna kain sutera ditinjau dari penodaan pada kain putih akibat gosokan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Kualitas Acacia Nilotica L. (daun oncit) yang dimaksudkan dalam penelitian ini adalah ketahanan luntur warna kain sutera yang dicelup dengan zat warna Acacia Nilotica L. (daun oncit), menggunakan konsentrasi fiksator tunjung yang berbeda, yaitu 1gr/l, 2gr/l, 3gr/l. Sampel uji yang digunakan adalah kain sutera T 54 diambil secara random atau secara acak diagonal sesuai dengan SII nomer 0728 tahun 1983. Tingkat ketahanan luntur warna kain sutera yang dicelup dengan zat warna Acacia Nilotica L. (daun oncit) diketahui berdasarkan perubahan warna yang diukur menggunakan alat gray scale dan penodaan pada kain putih diukur menggunakan staining scale. Data hasil pengukuran dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kualitas Acacia Nilotica L. (daun oncit) sebagai pewarna kain sutera menggunakan fiksator tunjung 1 gram, 2 gram, dan 3 gram ditinjau dari ketahanan luntur berdasarkan pada perubahan warna akibat pencucian termasuk kategori 3-4 atau cukup baik artinya kain sutera sedikit luntur bila dicuci,(2) kualitas Acacia Nilotica L. (daun oncit) sebagai pewarna kain sutera menggunakan fiksator tunjung 1 gram, 2 gram, dan 3 gram ditinjau dari penodaan pada kain putih akibat gosokan termasuk pada kategori 4-5 atau baik, artinya kain sutera tidak menodai kain putih.

Abstract

Teachers of Tourism Vocational High Schools in assessing students’ performance generally use an invalid written test. It does not measure what it was designed to measure. Measurement of performance should use authentic assessments. The objectives of this study were (1) identifying aspects required to develop an instrument, (2) developing authentic assessment instruments on scientific learning of Tourism Vocational High Schools, and (3) developing authentic rubrics of scientific learning. This study was Research and Development applying the 4D model consisting of Define, Design, Developed, and Disseminate. The first year study completed stages of Defining and Designing, while the second year completed stages of Developing and Disseminating. The results of the first year study were the prototype of the instruments and the rubric script. This study generated 3 instrument prototypes, namely attitude instrument (8 items), knowledge instrument (9 items), and skills instrument (18 items), along with the rubrics for each instrument. The three instruments qualify face validity with expert judgment, content validity with Aiken formula, construct validity with goodness-of-fit test, and reliability estimate with Intraclass Correlation Coefficient.

Abstract

Self-assessment in practicum courses may develop students' characters, for example, honesty, discipline, and responsibility. Moreover, it can also improve students' initiative, critical, and creative thinking. However, assessment for practicum courses is fully conducted by lecturers without any involvement from students. This study aims to develop self-assessment instruments to assess students’ characters while performing fashion design practicums using the HOTS approach. The instruments were developed using the 4D model by Thiagarajan. The model consists of some stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The sample was collected from 15 students taking the Haute Couture course. The participants of this study were selected using purposive sampling. The developed instruments were validated by experts and were considered “Almost Perfect”. The inter-rater reliability index is higher than 0.7, so it indicates that the instruments met the criteria required. Some experts in fashion design were involved to validate the instruments. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the self-assessment, it was found that 14 out of 15 students were considered competent or having very good performances. The developed instruments can be used to assess students’ performance characters in practicum courses as they may measure students' competency (hard skill) and characters (soft skill). This study reveals that self-assessment of work attitudes needs to be pursued during practical learning to enhance learning motivation and develop relevant competencies.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on make-up artists (MUA) who work as facial make up and hair styling for various interests that are at high risk of exposure to Covid-19 transmission so that they need personal protective clothing to avoid droplets. Based on this, researchers developed personal protective clothing designs for the make up artist profession to identify criteria, steps, and opinions of design experts about the feasibility of personal protective clothing design for the make up artist profession. Referring to the research model written by Thiagarajaan (1974) with 4D steps on the subject of make up artist research in bantul area obtained: (1) Design criteria using waterproof materials, washable, inconspicuous colors, leeway can be arranged, closed and tight, and in accordance with the needs of the make up artist profession. (2) The define stage is obtained from literature studies and interviews of prospective users, design is used to pour the ideas obtained, the development stage of researchers reordering product design according to input from design experts and disseminate introducing products to prospective users. (3) The results of personal protective clothing design assessment for the make up artist profession are very high category of 3 respondents or 100% so that the design is worthy to be disseminated to prospective users. Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak terhadap make-up artist (MUA) yang berprofesi sebagai perias wajah dan menata rambut untuk berbagai kepentingan yang berisiko tinggi terpapar penularan Covid-19 sehingga membutuhkan busana pelindung diri agar terhindar dari droplet. Berdasarkan hal tersebut peneliti mengembangkan desain busana pelindung diri untuk profesi make up artist untuk mengidentifikasi kriteria, langkah-langkah, dan pendapat ahli desain tentang kelayakan desain busana pelindung diri untuk profesi make up artist. Mengacu pada model research yang ditulis oleh Thiagarajaan (1974) dengan langkah 4D pada subjek penelitian make up artist di daerah Bantul didapatkan: (1) Kriteria desain menggunakan bahan anti air, bisa dicuci, warna tidak mencolok, kelonggaran bisa diatur, tertutup dan rapat, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan profesi make up artist. (2) Tahapan define diperoleh dari study literatur dan wawancara calon pengguna, design digunakan untuk menuangkan ide-ide yang didapat, tahap development peneliti menyusun kembali desain produk sesuai masukan dari para ahli desain dan disseminate mengenalkan produk kepada calon pengguna. (3) Hasil penilaian desain busana pelindung diri untuk profesi make up artist berkategori sangat tinggi dari 3 orang responden atau 100% sehingga desain tersebut layak untuk didesiminasikan kepada calon pengguna.

Abstract

Program ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan solusi para guru dalam mengatasi permasalahan kesulitan melakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) untuk pemenuhan publikasi ilmiah. Metode yang dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah dengan memberikan bantuan dalam bentuk workshop pelatihan dan pendampingan yang berupa: (1) penguasaan konsep PTK melalui ceramah dan diskusi tentang permasalahan penelitian, kajian pustaka dan penelusuran referensi melalui internet, rancangan tindakan dan penelitian, penyusunan laporan hasil penelitian dan teknik swasunting, (2) teknik prosedur penyusunan proposal PTK dan pengembangan instrument melalui ceramah dan diskusi, (3) tugas membuat proposal dan instrumen PTK oleh semua guru peserta sesuai bidang keahliannya untuk memperbaiki atau meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan prestasi hasil belajar peserta didik yang dilakukan dengan pendampingan oleh tim pengabdi. Setelah mendapatkan pelatihan, para guru antusias untuk menyusun proposal, dan di akhir pelatihan ada 96% dari total guru yang mengikuti pelatihan menyelesaikan  proposalnya dengan baik

Abstract

Penerapan model assessment kurang banyak mendapatkan perhatian. Proses assessment dilakukan tanpa melibatkan mahasiswa sehingga mahasiswa kurang tertarik terhadap proses pembelajaran dengan model ini dan hanya mahasiswa yang aktif saja yang mau mengerjakan tugas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi praktik dengan dierapkannya model assessment as learning terhadap prestasi membuat busana pria atau kemeja. Penelitian ini menerapkan model assessment as learning yaitu untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dalam pembuatan busana pria. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode Partial Least Square (PLS) dengan bantuan software Smart PLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh positif terhadap Prestasi. Hal ini sesuai dengan hasil uji hipotesis yang menunjukkan bahwa nilai T-statistics sebesar 68.495 ≥ 1.64, maka pengaruhnya positif dan nilai p-value sebesar 0.000 ≤ 0.1 yang berarti signifikan, serta arah positif dari nilai original sample (O) sebesar 0.961. Dengan demikian berarti motivasi praktik dengan diterapkannya model assesment as learning berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap prestasi membuat busana pria.
