Abstract

Multinutrient Block Plus Medicated. Salah satu permasalahan dalam pembibitan sapi Brahman Cross adalah rendahnya efisiensi reproduksi akibat panjangnya anestrus post partum dan tingginya angka service per conception yang antara lain disebabkan oleh rendahnya kandungan nutrisi ransum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan reproduksi sapi induk Brahman Cross post partum dengan pemberian pakan suplemen Multinutrient Block plus Medicated (MBPM) yang dimulai dengan memperbaiki skor kondisi induk sehingga dapat mempercepat proses munculnya berahi post partum kemudian meningkatkan angka kebuntingan dengan memperkecil angka service per conception serta memperbaiki pertumbuhan pedet yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 16ekor sapi induk Brahman Cross post partum yang tidak melebihi 90 hari terdiriatas 9 ekor diberi pakan suplemen MBPM dibandingkan dengan 7 ekor tidakdiberi pakan suplemen MBPM sebagai kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwapemberian pakan suplemen MBPM dapat meningkatkan reproduksi sapi induk Brahman Cross post partum yaitu mempertahankan skor kondisi induk pada awal post partum sampai terjadinya kebuntingan, mempercepat 24,8 hari munculnya berahi post partum, angka service per conception = 1 dan angka kebuntingan dapat mencapai 60%, mempertahankan kadar urea plasma darah dan kadar glukosa darah dalam batas normal baik pada saat post partum maupun setelah berahi post partum. Pemberian pakan suplemen MBPM pada sapi induk BrahmanCross post partum dapat memberikan pertambahan bobot badan pada pedetnya yang menyusui sebesar 0,51kg/ hari.

Abstract

Moringa oleifera is a type of plant that has many benefits. Moringa leaves are very well consumed by humans with a variety of processed products. This Community Service aims to open people's insight, knowledge, and skills about the benefits of Moringa leaves for healts, as well as provide business opportunities for farming communities who are interested in cultivating Moringa plants to increase their income. The method used in community service is in the form of counseling. The results of this activity have provided knowledge to the community, especially farmers in the Landasan Ulin Barat Village about the benefits of Moringa leaves for health. This community service is expected to be carried out in a sustainable manner, so that the counseling that has been given can be put into practice in real terms, thus providing benefits for the people of the West Landasan Ulin Village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the nutrient content of fermented water spinach leaf flour on the content of dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein with different EM-4 levels and their economic prices as an alternative to poultry feed ingredients. The research method used was a completely randomized design (RAL), with five treatments and five replications, where each replication consisted of one container of fermented containers. The variables observed were dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein. The data obtained were analyzed using a variety of analyzes where previously the data homogeneity test was carried out. If the treatment shows a significant and very significant effect, then it will be followed by Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that the nutrient content of water spinach fermented leaf flour on the content of dry matter and organic matter decreased, while the crude protein content increased, so that it showed very different values (p <0.01) the economic value of making fermented water spinach leaf flour the best is 0.4% EM-4 is equal to Rp.420, -

Abstract

ABSTRACT Moringa leaves contain various nutrients that can protect spermatozoa during semen preservation. The purpose of this study was to examine the ability of moringa leaf extract with different concentrations of coconut water extender on the quality of Boer crossbreed goat spermatozoa preserved at 3-5°C. The treatment of this study was the concentration level of moringa leaf extract in coconut water extender. Fresh semen was divided into five tubes and diluted with 80% coconut water + 20% egg yolk (P0, control), 79% coconut water + 20% egg yolk + 1% moringa leaf extract (P1), 77% coconut water + 20% egg yolk + 3% moringa leaves ectract (P2), 75% coconut water + 20% egg yolk + 5% moringa leaf extract (P3), and 73% coconut water + 20% egg yolk + 7% moringa leaf extract (P4), respectively. The variables observed were motility and spermatozoa viability. Results of this study showed that supplementation of different concentrations of moringa leaf extracts in coconut water extender was significantly (P<0.05) on motility and viability of Boer crossbreed goat spermatozoa during preservation. Supplementation of 3% moringa leaf extract in coconut water extender was better than 1, 5, and 7% in maintain the quality of Boer crossbreed goat spermatozoa during preservation. Abstract

This study aims to predict the egg volume of Alabio ducks based on the Westerskov (1950) model by finding the volume coefficient (Kv) based on the length and width of the eggs and validating the accuracy of the model obtained with the actual volume. This study uses a quantitative observation method based on the Westerskov model (1950) with the equation: V = Kv×P×L2, to predict volume in duck eggs Alabio. This study was divided into two stages, namely the first stage of Model Development using 350 Alabio duck eggs to find the Kv value by dividing the actual volume value of the eggs by the product of the length and width of the eggs that have been measured. The second stage is Model Validation using 150 eggs to validate the formula obtained in the first stage. The Kv value obtained in the first stage was applied to estimate the volume of 150 eggs using the Westerskov (1950) model. The predicted volume value of the 150 eggs obtained is then compared with the actual volume of the 150 eggs. The model obtained was then validated with the values of Mean Bias, Modeling Efficiency (MEF), Root Mean Squared Error of Prediction (RMSEP), and Concordance Correlation Coefficient (CCC). Based on the analysis results, the Kv value obtained to predict the egg volume of Alabio ducks is 0.48, so the mathematical model is ???? = 0.48×P×L2. The validation results show that the model is feasible to use (MEF=0.68) with a high level of accuracy (CCC=0.84).

Abstract

Air tebu dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pengencer semen karena mengandung berbagai nutrien yang dapat menunjang kehidupan spermatozoa selama preservasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kemampuan air tebu dalam mempertahankan daya hidup spermatozoa kambing PE selama preservasi pada suhu 3-5oC. Semen ditampung menggunakan vagina buatan dan segera dievaluasi secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis. Semen segar dibagi ke dalam lima buah tabung reaksi kemudain masing-masing diencerkan dengan 80% pengencer dasar laktosa + 20% kuning telur sebagai kontrol (P0), 20% air tebu + 60% akuabidetislata + 20% kuning telur (P1), 30% air tebu + 50% akuabidestilata + 20% kuning telur (P2), 40% air tebu + 40% akuabidestilata + 20% kuning telur (P3), dan 50% air tebu + 30% akuabidestilata + 20% kuning telur (P4). Semen yang telah diencerkan disimpan di dalam refrigerator lemari es pada suhu 3-5oC. Motilitas dan daya hidup spermatozoa masing-masing perlakuan dievaluasi setiap hari hingga motilitas mencapai 40%. Hasil penelitian diperoleh karakteristik semen segar kambing PE yaitu volume 1,15 ml, konsentrasi 3.870 juta/ml, motilitas 80%, spermatozoa hidup 87,75%, dan spermatozoa abnormal 7,5%. Persentase motilitas dan spermatozoa hidup pada hari keempat preservasi perlakuan P2 (41,25% dan 50%) nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan P0 (37,5% dan 47%), P1 (32,5% dan 44%), P3 (30% dan 36,25%), dan P4 (18% dan 29,25%). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kombinasi pengencer terbaik untuk semen kambing PE adalah terdiri atas 30% air tebu + 50% akuabidestilata + 20% kuning telur. ABSTRACT Sugarcane juice can be used as an alternative semen extender because it contains various nutrients that can support the life of spermatozoa during preservation. This study aimed to examine the ability of sugarcane juice to maintain the ability of Etawah crossbreed goat spermatozoa during preservation at 3-5oC. Semen was collected using an artificial vagina and immediately evaluated macroscopically and microscopically. Fresh semen was divided into five tubes and diluted with 80% lactose-based extender + 20% egg yolk as a control (T0), 20% sugarcane juice + 60% aquabidestilata + 20% egg yolk (T1), 30% sugarcane juice + 50% aquabidestilata + 20% egg yolk (T2), 40% sugarcane juice + 40% aquabidestilata + 20% egg yolk (T3), and 50% sugarcane juice + 30% aquabidestilata + 20% egg yolk (T4), respectively. The diluted-semen was stored in the refrigerator at 3-5oC. The motility and viability of spermatozoa were evaluated every day until the motility reached 40%. The results showed that the characteristics of fresh semen of Etawah crossbreed goat were volume 1.15 ml volume, spermatozoa concentration 3870 million cells/ml, spermatozoa motility 80%, live spermatozoa 87.75%, and abnormal spermatozoa 7.5%. The percentage of motility and live spermatozoa on the fourth day of preservation for T2 (41.25% and 50%) was significantly (P<0.05) higher than T0 (37.5% and 47%), T1 (32.5% and 44%), T3 (30% and 36.25%), and T4 (18% and 29.25%). It can be concluded that the best extender combination for Etawah crossbreed goat semen is composed of 30% sugarcane juice + 50% aquabidestilata + 20% egg yolk.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian berbagai level Pupuk Organik Cair(POC) urin kambing terhadap pertumbuhan Indigofera zollingeriana pada masa pembibitan. Penelitianmenggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri atas tiga dosis pupuk organik cair dengan enamulangan sehingga terdapat 18 unit percobaan. Konsentrasi pupuk organik cair urin kambing yangdigunakan adalah sebanyak 9 ml/l dengan dosis pemberian 200 ml/polybag, 250 ml/polybag dan 300ml/polybag. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian POC urin kambing dengan berbagai dosispada pertumbuhan bibit Indigofera zollingeriana tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P > 0,05)terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang dan biomasa akar.Pupuk Organik Cair, Urin Kambing, Indigofera zollingeriana.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan performa kambing PE Jantan yang diberikan pakan tambahan berupa pakan suplemen UMMB dengan UMMMB. Penelitian ini menggunakan 8 ekor kambing PE jantan, 4 ekor diberi suplemen UMMB sebagai kontrol dan 4 ekor diberi pakan suplemen UMMMB sebagai perlakuan. Setiap kambing percobaan diberi pakan dengan kadar TDN 61% dan PK 13%. Setiap kambing percobaan diberi pakan hijauan dan pakan suplemen UMMB dan UMMMB sebanyak 200 gram. Perlakuan penelitian ini adalah P0 (Kontrol dengan pemberian hijauan rawa ad libitum + UMMB sebanyak 200 gram) dan P1 (Perlakuan dengan pemberian hijauan rawa ad libitum + UMMMB sebanyak 200 gram). Data yang di peroleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji banding yaitu uji t (t-Test Independent Sample). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan suplemen UMMB dan UMMMB tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) terhadap rataan konsumsi ransum harian (kg), rataan konsumsi bahan kering (BK), rataan PBBH (kg/ekor), dan rataan efisiensi ransum (kg) pada ternak kambing. Kelompok perlakuan UMMMB (P1) memiliki rataan PBBH lebih baik sebesar (0,074kg/ekor) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol UMMB (P0) (0,066kg/ekor).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan produksi hijauan pakan alami ternakkerbau rawa yang dibudidayakan, melalui pendekatan budidaya rumput unggul di lahan kering.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada musim penghujan yaitu bulan Agustus sampai dengan Nopember2013 di Desa Benua Raya Kecamatan Bati-Bati Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Metode penelitian yangdigunakan adalah pengamatan jumlah anakan, tinggi anakan, lebar daun, panjang daun, diameterdaun dan produksi hijauan (padi hiang, kumpai mining, kumpai minyak dan purun tikus) yangdibudidayakan sebagaimana rumput unggul. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa padi hiang,kumpai mining, kumpai minyak, dan purun tikus direkomendasikan dapat dibudidayakan.

Abstract

Rice straws are classified as a low-nutritional quality of feed ingredients. Fermentationis an effort to improve the nutritional quality of rice straw as a feed for ruminant. Thepurpose of this study was to determine the optimal dose of ruminal fluid on physicalquality, crude protein content and crude fiber content of fermented rice straw. Theresearch design in this study was the Completely Randomized Design (RAL), with fivetreatments and four replications. The treatment was J1 (5% ruminal fluid), J2 (10%ruminal fluid), J3 (15% ruminal fluid), J4 (20% ruminal fluid) and J5 (25% ruminal fluid).The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Production, Faculty ofAgriculture, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, Banjarbaru, from February to April 2012.Results showed the addition of ruminal fluid on the rice straw very significantly affected(P>0.01) crude protein of fermented rice straw. However, addition ruminal fluid did notsignificantly affect (P<0.05) on temperature, moisture content, pH, and crude fibercontent of rice straw. Treatment J3 was the optimum rumen fluid dose as indicated byphysical quality of fermented rice straw, the highest content of crude protein (6.58%),and the lowest content of crude fiber (30,64%).
