Abstract

The demand for a better education system will result in not only a better academic achievement but also students with better character. Particularly in this digital era, it is very important to integrate technology in the process of guidance and counseling services at schools. This article aims to provide a critical review of implementation and application of classical guidance with format flipped classroom in coping with the advance of technology as an effort that can be made by school counselors in order to make innovation in guidance and counseling service at schools. This research method is a literature study. This study collected and analyzed relevant journals related to the use of flipped classroom. Class guidance with flipped classroom format has the potential to help school counselors to manage classical guidance and stimulate students to be active, communicative, and contributive to the process of guidance so that the topic presented can be addressed directly. In addition, by doing this, it is expected that students can develop themselves well in their social, academic, and career life. School counselors can use flipped classroom guidance to make innovation in performing classroom guidance services. The steps to perform flipped classroom guidance, in brief, are determine the topic to be discussed based on the need of the student, creating service program plan, then setting up the activities that the students will do in pre-class activity and inside the class, the implementation of the activities and evaluation, and follow up.

Abstract

Individual counseling services which are not in line with the procedures and goals may lead to students’ negative perceptions. To know this, there are several indicators to be examined whether the services have been in line with the procedures or not, such as listening skills, techniques used, goal setting, and others. Regarding these preliminary findings, this study aimed at describing students’ perceptions of individual counseling services provided by counselors in Semarang, Indonesia and its differences in terms of counselor communication skills based on genders and grades. Survey method with cross-sectional technique (n=709) was employed to investigate this issue. To determine students’ perception of the implementation of individual counseling by the counselor, the authors used MANOVA and multidimensional descriptive analysis. The findings showed that according to gender, male students had lower perceptions of the individual counseling given by counselors than female students. Further, differences in perceptions based on grades are also discussed in this article.

Abstract

Academic dishonesty is a morality problem that is often found in every level of education. It becomes a concern among guidance and counseling practitioner in the educational context. Regarding previous studies, spiritual-religious attitudes and moral disengagement predict individuals’ academic dishonesty. To complete the gap of those studies, the current study investigated the role of moral disengagement to mediate the relationship between spiritual-religious attitudes and academic dishonesty in university students. There were 292 respondents from four universities in Semarang participated in this study. The authors used a cross-sectional study and utilized google form to collect the data. The authors conducted three analyses, regression-based path analysis, mediation analysis using bias-corrected and bootstrapping. The results showed that there was a direct relationship among all variables, but they're found no mediation effect on moral disengagement. These findings imply the importance of counseling services to preserve students’ morality so they could avoid academic dishonesty.

Abstract

Mental health of university students has recently become a topic of attention by mental health researchers, in addition to having a significant urgency in daily life, mental health is a determining factor in achieving effective living. This study aims to determine the level of obstacles experienced by students in the process of seeking professional psychological assistance. This study uses a quantitative method obtained through survey techniques with descriptive analysis explore using SPPS assistance, by providing a psychological scale that is distributed via google form, the respondents of this study are college students. The results of the study show that students have a high level of barriers in seeking psychological professional help. Discussions and suggestions are in the script.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the guidance and counseling services by integrating mindfulness and kawruh jiwa as an effort that can be done by school counselors in shaping psychological well-being of students. The era of disruption as an era that has positive and negative impacts and provides opportunities and challenges to influence the psychological condition of students. Psychological well-being becomes important for students in establishing social relations effectively. Mindfulness and kawruh jiwa almost have the same concept that is characterized by acceptance of what it is by not judging, accepting, releasing, conscious, giving way to students to achieve psychological well-being so as to be able to develop their potential more optimally. Kawruh Jiwa as indigenous counseling is considered necessary to be applied to students so that it is not too far apart from the values and understanding of Javanese culture. Concepts and interventions are discussed in this article.

Abstract

Multiculturalism attitude of school counselors is an attitude that can support the effectiveness of guidance and counseling programs in schools in establishing relationships with stakeholders, collaborating with parents, community leaders, and other professionals. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of multiculturalism in school counselors. The type of research is survey research, the research was conducted using the Indonesian version of the The Multicultural School Counseling Behavior Scale (MSCBS), the research subject is school counselors in Brebes Regency. The results of this study indicate that overall school counselors have a high attitude of multiculturalism in each research indicator, the details of the results and discussion are contained in this article.

Abstract

Academic hardiness memiliki peranan penting bagi siswa sekolah dalam proses belajar dan berkegiatan disekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat academic hardiness siswa sekolah menengah atas di kota semarang. responden dari penelitian ini berjumlah 1185 siswa dengan jenis kelamin laki-laki dan perempuan. penelitian ini berfokus pada perbedaan tingkat academic hardiness yang ditinjau dari jenis kelamin dan usia. Skala yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni Revised Academic Hardiness Scale (RAHS), melalui proses adaptasi. teknik analisi data menggunakan deskriptif analisis dan Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) menggunakan statistical product and services solution (SPPS) versi 21. hasil penelitian menjukkan tingkat academic hardiness siswa sebagian besar ada pada kategori tinggi, dan terdapat perbedaan tingkat academic hardiness siswa dari jenis kelamin dan usia.

Abstract

School is a place for students to optimize their personal and academic development. In the process, students have a need to interact with their peers, the results of a survey of high school students Ya BAKII 01 Kesugihan show that students are more happy when telling stories with their peers compared to gudance and counseling teachers as a means to reduce the tension they experience, especially related to personal, social, and social problems. and study. The solution to this problem is to prepare an extension through training for selected students so that they can help students who need assistance, this is called peer counseling. Students who are trained go through a selection stage with criteria; 1) have good academic achievement; 2) have good behavior; 3) have high empathy; 4) able to cooperate with other people; 5) open to others; and 6) be responsible. Selection based on these criteria is carried out in accordance with the qualifications and standards of the peer counselor. The purpose of peer counseling training is to provide knowledge and competency-based skills as peer counselors. The method of implementing this community service activity uses a form of training which is carried out through several stages, namely socializing the activity program, carrying out training which includes theory, simulation, and evaluation during two meeting sessions. The results of the training are contained in this article.

Abstract

Academic procastionation is the behavior of delaying to complete academic tasks. Academic procastination can be caused by psychological conditions that are emotionally exhausted. This study aims to determine the realtionshin between academic burnout and academic procastination of high school students in Cilacap. This research is a quantitative correlation study and the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The research subjects used cluster random sampling involving 100 high school students in Cilacap. The result of the study using the person product moment = correlation test, showed rxy = 0.624with the significance value of p = 0.0000 (p < 0,05) indicating that the hypothesis is accepted. So that the result reveal there is significant positive relationship between academic burnout and student academic procastination.
