Abstract

The problem solving ability of students still low the problem of this research was mathematics. The purposes of this research was to know analyze improvement in mathematics problem solving ability  of students that given group investigation learning with students that given  direct learning. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research. The population in this study were all students of Mathematics Education Study Program UIN North Sumatra Medan and the samples were taken by cluster random sampling based on existing classes, namely PMM-4 class as an experimental class and PMM-2 as a control class. Data collection techniques in this study were using tests of students' mathematical problem solving abilities (pre tests and post tests) in the form of essay tests. The collected data is then searched for the N-gain value and analyzed using t test with SPSS 17 software.. Based of the results analysis, it showed that: Improvment  of the students’ mathematics problem solving ability that given group investigation learning model was higher than the students’ mathematics problem solving abiliy that given direct learning. His then, suggested that group investigation learning model  used for lectures to improved students’ mathematics problem solving ability.

Abstract

 Abstrak:Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dengan mahasiswa yang diberi pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan model kuasi eksperimen dengan pre test-post test control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini meliputi seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan matematika salah satu universitas yang berada di Medan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini melibatkan mahasiswa semester IV sebanyak 42 orang pada kelas eksperimen dan 41 orang pada kelas kontrol yang diambil secara acak menggunakan cluster random sampling. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini adalah data kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar pada mata kuliah metode numerik yang berbentuk essay test. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik inferensial menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai sig = 0.00001 < α = 0,05 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar pada mata kuliah metode numerik antara mahasiswa yang diberi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang diberi pembelajaran langsung. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan  rata-rata hasil belajar metode numerik mahasiswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran langsung. Oleh karena itu, disarankan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk dosen matematika dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar metode numerik mahasiswa. Kata Kunci : Hasil Belajar, Pembelajaran Kooperatif, Jigsaw. Abstract:The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in student learning outcomes taught by the type of jigsaw cooperative learning with students who are given direct learning. This research is one type of quantitative research using a quasi-experimental model with a pre-test-post-test control group design. The population in this study included all mathematics education students at a university in Medan. The sample in this study involved 42 semester IV students in the experimental class and 41 people in the control class who were taken randomly using cluster random sampling. The type of data in this research is quantitative data. The instrument used to obtain data in this study was a learning outcome test in a numerical method subject in the form of an essay test. Data were analyzed using inferential statistics using t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, the value of sig = 0.00001 <α = 0.05 so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there are differences in student learning outcomes of the numerical method between students who are given the jigsaw type of cooperative learning compared to students who are given direct learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that the average learning outcomes of the numerical method of students who get the jigsaw type of cooperative learning are significantly higher than students who receive direct learning. Therefore, it is suggested that the jigsaw type of cooperative learning model can be used as an alternative for mathematics lecturers in improving student learning outcomes in numerical methods.               Keywords:    Learning Outcomes,Cooperative Learning, Jigsaw.

Abstract

Abstrak:Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaam peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan sosial siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran  kooperatif tipe STADdengan siswa yang diberi pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan model kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok pre test-post test control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini meliputi seluruh siswa dari salah satu SMP swasta yang berada di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VIII sebanyak 30 orang pada kelas eksperimen dan 30 orang pada kelas kontrol yang diambil secara acak menggunakan cluster random sampling. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini adalah data kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang berbentuk essay test dan angket keterampilan sosial siswa dalam skala likert pada mata pelajaran matematika. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik inferensial menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai sig   = 0.00001 <  α = 0,05 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan sikap keterampilan sosial yang diperoleh siswa antara pembelajaran kooperatif tipeSTAD dengan pembelajaran langsung. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan sikap keterampilan sosial siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipeSTAD lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran langsung. Kata Kunci : Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, Keterampilan Sosial, Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD Abstract:The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in the increase in problem-solving abilities and social skills of students who are taught by cooperative learning type STAD with students who are given direct learning. This research is a type of quantitative research using a quasi-experimental model with a pre-test-post-test control group design. The population in this study included all students from one of private junior high school in Percut Sei Tuan. The sample in this study involved 30 class VIII students in the experimental class and 30 people in the control class who were taken randomly using cluster random sampling. The type of data in this research is quantitative data. The instruments used to obtain the data in this study were a test of mathematical problem-solving abilities in the form of an essay test and a questionnaire for students' social skills on a Likert scale in mathematics. Data were analyzed using inferential statistics using t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, the value of sig = 0.00001 <α = 0.05 so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is a significant difference in the increase in mathematical problem-solving abilities and attitudes of social skills obtained by students between cooperative learning type STAD and direct learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that the average mathematical problem-solving ability and the attitude of social skills of students who get STAD type cooperative learning is significantly higher than students who receive direct learning.                Keywords:Mathematical Problem Solving, Social Skills, Cooperative Learning Type STAD

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran  group investigation berbantuan aplikasi android terhadap Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan dengan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian meliputi seluruh mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika di salah satu Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Medan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini melibatkan mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematika semester III sebanyak 38 orang pada kelas eksperimen dan 40 orang pada kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah non tes berupa angket Habits of Mind matematis dalam skala likert pada matakuliah trigonometri. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik inferensial yaitu uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai signifikansi  sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran group investigation berbantuan aplikasi android dengan Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran langsung (klasikal). Simpulan penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran group investigation berbantuan aplikasi android terhadap sikap Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran group investigation berbantuan aplikasi android ini dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif bagi dosen mata kuliah trigonometri dalam meningkatkan sikap Habits of Mind matematis mahasiswa. AbstractThis study aims to analyze the effect of group investigation learning assisted by Android application on students’ Mathematical Habits of Mind. The study follows a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental research. The research design was implemented by using a pre-test and post-test. The research population includes the students of Mathematics Education at one of the universities in Medan. The sample in this study involved 38 students of the third-semester mathematics education program in the experimental class and 40 students in the control class who were selected by cluster random sampling. The instrument used was a non-test in the form of a mathematical Habits of Mind questionnaire on a Likert scale in the trigonometry module. The results of data analysis show a significant value of  so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means there is a significant difference between the mathematical Habits of Mind of students who were taught with the group investigation learning model assisted by the android application and the mathematical Habits of Mind of students who were taught by direct learning (classical learning method). The study concludes that there is an influence of the group investigation learning model assisted by the android application on the students’ mathematical Habits of Mind attitudes. Therefore, the group investigation learning assisted by this android application can be an alternative for the trigonometry module in improving students’ mathematical Habits of Mind attitudes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Meaningful Instructional Design learning model assisted by PALAR Media on students' mathematical communication skills and self-confidence. The method used by the researcher is a quantitative research method, with a quasi-experimental research model with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The data collection technique used is a test of mathematical communication skill sand a self-confidence questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used are normality test, homogeneity, and t-test. The results of theresearch are: (1) there is an effect of the PALAR media-assisted Meaningful Instructional Design learning model on students' mathematica lcommunication skills; (2) there is an influence of the PALAR media-assisted Meaningful Instructional Design learning model on students' self-confidence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP 8 PAB Saentis dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang rendah. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut maka peneliti menerapkan model pembelajaran Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) berbantuan media konkret yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) berbantuan media konkret yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui model pengaruh pembelajaran Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) berbantuan media konkret terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada persamaan materi dan pertidaksamaan linier satu variabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pretest dan postest , populasi yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP 8 PAB Saentis,Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan Teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Auditory Intellectualally Repetition (AIR) berbantuan media yang nyata lebih baik dari kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of prospective mathematics teachers in developing lesson plans during micro teaching activities. This study is a qualitative descriptive research equipped with quantitative data used to explain the findings that exist before the results of the study concluded in qualitative form. To obtain the data, the researchers conducted observations and assessments using assessment instrument sheets based on Permendikbud number 22 of 2016 against the lesson plan prepared by 34 prospective mathematics teachers UIN North Sumatra Medan during micro teaching activities and interviews. Assessment of the lesson plan is done by giving a score on each aspect of the component with a scale assessment of 3 that is fully appropriate, partially appropriate, and not appropriate. The assessment score of each RPP component is processed by descriptive statistics and then categorized according to quantitative data classification and converted into qualitative data of three categories, namely high, medium, and low categories. The results of this study indicate that the ability of prospective teachers of mathematics in preparing all components of the lesson plan reached a high category except on one component.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membedakan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan model pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan desain post-test-only control group design, penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Medan. Cluster random sampling digunakan untuk memilih 32 peserta dari masing-masing dua kelas (kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen). Instrumen penelitian ini merupakan sebuah tes dengan lima pertanyaan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Oleh karena itu, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa Problem Based Learning dan pendidikan konvensional menghasilkan tingkat literasi matematika yang berbeda secara signifikan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menulis, merancang, dan mengembangkan bahan ajar pada mata kuliah algoritma pemrograman. Produk diharapkan dapat digunakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa sebagai sumber belajar untuk kegiatan perkuliahan pada program studi pendidikan matematika. Studi ini dilakukan dengan metode Research & Development (R&D) untuk menghasilkan produk tertentu melalui proses pengembangan. Subjek pada penelitian ini hanya terbatas pada 6 orang mahasiswa semester III Prodi Pendidikan Matematika Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. Proses pengembangan materi pendidikan yang digunakan menggunakan model 4D meliputi pendefenisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan pendistribusian (disseminate). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi ahli dan angket respon mahasiswa. Berdasarkan penilaian terhadap produk pengembangan, hasil validasi oleh ahli materi menunjukkan persentase penilaian sebesar 92,10% dengan kategori sangat valid, hasil validasi oleh ahli bahasa menunjukkan persentase penilaian sebesar 93,75% dengan kategori sangat valid, dan hasil validasi oleh ahli media dan desain pembelajaran menunjukkan persentase penilaian sebesar 97,5% dengan kategori sangat valid. Selanjutnya, hasil penyebaran angket respon terhadap bahan ajar yang dikembangkan menunjukkan skor rata-rata 94,58% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar algoritma pemrograman dapat dikategorikan sangat valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran.  AbstractThe purpose of this study is to write, design, and develop teaching materials in the programming algorithm module. The product is expected to be used by lecturers and students as a learning resource for lecturing activities in mathematics education study programs. This study was conducted using the Research & Development (R&D) method to produce certain products through a development process. The subjects in this study were limited to six third-semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. The process of developing educational materials follows the 4D model, namely defining, designing, developing, and distributing. The instruments used were expert validation sheets and questionnaires filled out by students. Based on the assessment of product development, the results of validation by material experts show a percentage of 92.10% with a very valid category, validation results by linguists show a percentage of 93.75% with a very valid category, and results of validation by media and design experts learning shows an assessment percentage of 97.5% with a very valid category. Furthermore, the results of distributing response questionnaires to the developed teaching materials show an average score of 94.58% which is considered in the very practical category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that programming algorithm teaching materials can be categorized as very valid and practical for use in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure students' creative thinking skills using stacking blocks as media. The research method used is a quantitative method. The research sample consisted of 60 students from class VII-2 and VII-3. The instrument used is a test of the ability to think creatively and use stacking blocks as media. Based on the results and discussion conducted, the average value in the experimental class is higher than the average value in the control class. By using stacking blocks as media, students can improve their creative thinking skills. Out of a total of 60 students tested, only 58.33% of students had a low level of creative thinking. Of the four indicators of the ability to think creatively there are various categories such as poor, sufficient, good, and very good. In the learning process, the teacher can evaluate the level of students' creative thinking by using various types of media, including constructing blocks, and the teacher can channel their creativity in the learning process.
