<![CDATA[This quasi experimental study aimed to determine the effectiveness of STAD cooperative learning model viewed by students understanding of mathematical concepts. Posttest only design was used in this study. The population of this study was all students of grade VII of SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung. The samples of this study were students of VII-D and VII-E class which taken by purposive random sampling. The data of study was got by test of understanding of mathematical concepts. Based on the data analysis using t-test, it could be concluded that the STAD cooperative learning model was effective viewed by understanding of mathematical concepts of grade VII students of SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung even semester in academic year 2012/2013.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII-D dan VII-E yang diambil secara purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan analisis data dengan menggunakan uji-t, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep metematis siswa kelas VII SMPN 8 Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2012/2013.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran kooperatif, pemahaman konsep matematis, STAD]]>
