Abstract

Media construct and make sense of the reality it serves to its audiences. Reality-construction and sense-making are influenced by internal (reporters, media organization) and external factors (sources, advertisers, others). Thus, news is a product of constructed reality. News is not something that is already out-there for the media to present to its audiences. Media chooses, selects, put emphasis on some details and facts, while (purposedly) overlooks others. The selection and emphasise are called framing. Framing enables the complex, disorganized realities, to be changed into organized, simple, and sensible realities. In this research, the news the A-Committee’s excursion to Netherlands in relation to East Java’s centenary in Public Service Broadcasting TVRI Jatim and Commercial (Private) Broadcast JTV are explored. Since the research intends to see how the media presents, exnominates, and puts emphasis on facts and details to make sense of the reality, this research uses Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki’s framing analysis method. Hence, it was found, TVRI frames reality from the government’s point of view, while JTV frames the reality from the watchdog role’s point of view. The differences lays in historical, legal, and influences on media content. Thus, it was found that either public or commercial broadcasts television produce news according to their bias and interests that are seen through their newsframes.

Abstract

Hypertension has become a health problem in the world because it has become a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and stroke. 7.5 million deaths or around 12.8% of total deaths in the world are caused by hypertension. Currently hypertension is a big challenge in Indonesia because it is a condition that is often found. As many as 5.52% of the population in North Sumatra suffer from hypertension and 4.97% of the population in Medan City suffer from hypertension (Hesti Despita Siregar et all, 2021). Hypertension also affects many residents in Tumpatan Village. Tumpatan Village is one of the villages located in Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency which has 8 hamlets. Sempali Hamlet is one of the hamlets that has a high prevalence of hypertension, especially in the elderly. So it is something that must be prevented so that its prevalence does not increase. The prevalence rate of hypertension is also caused by the lifestyle of the people there and the burden on their minds, which can cause high blood pressure in people, especially the elderly. So it is necessary to hold community service activities. This community service activity is carried out in the form of a seminar using the lecture method by providing counseling or education as well as by distributing leaflets and filling out questionnaires by activity participants. The participants in this outreach activity were 30 elderly people from Sempali Hamlet, Tumpatan Village, Beringin District, and it was carried out on December 16 2023. It is known that the significant value is p 0.000 (p<0,05). So it can be concluded that there is an influence of providing hypertension counseling on the knowledge of participants in PKM activities, the results of which are known after giving pre-test and post-test questionnaires to participants in PKM activities. Community service activities in the form of counseling about the prevention and control of hypertension in the elderly show that there is an influence of providing counseling on the knowledge of elderly people regarding hypertension. Based on this, it is hoped that the elderly can prevent and control hypertension so that it does not cause complications from various other diseases

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of information technology, information sharing, and trust on supply chain performance, with supply chain integration as a mediating variable. The research method used is a quantitative approach, with questionnaires distributed to 236 individuals in the retail supply chain in Batam. Data were analyzed using the PLS method with SmartPLS 3.0. The results show that information technology and trust have a significant positive relationship with supply chain performance. Additionally, supply chain integration strengthens the relationships between information technology, information sharing, trust, and supply chain performance. However, it was found that information sharing does not have a significant relationship with supply chain performance. The implications of this study highlight the importance of effective use of information technology to enhance supply chain integration, which in turn strengthens information sharing and trust among partners, thereby improving retail performance in Batam City.

Abstract

Introduction: The use of digital technology has transformed the way consumers select goods, particularly in the beauty industry. TikTok, along with the TikTok Shop feature, has become the primary channel for skincare brands to reach customers through content marketing, affiliate programs, customer reviews, and live streaming. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of TikTok's content marketing, affiliate programs, and live streaming on consumers' purchasing decisions for skincare products. Methods: This research employs a quantitative approach, a type of research commonly referred to as a survey. Primary data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to students of the Sharia Economics Study Program at Annuqayah University, which was compiled based on research variable indicators. For this study, the probability sampling method was employed to select samples from a hundred respondents. Results: The influence of the three independent variables on the dependent variables was measured simultaneously and partially using multiple linear regression data analysis techniques. Islamic economics students at Annuqayah University have shown an increase in their interest in buying skincare products, thanks to the use of TikTok content affiliates, customer reviews, and live streaming. Additionally, buying interest is significantly influenced by these three independent variables acting simultaneously. Despite the simultaneous influences, the analysis revealed that all three variables collectively accounted for 54.3% of buying interest, while other factors contributed to the remaining 45.7%.
