The aims of this research were to find out to what extent the effectiveness of the supervision, the employees’ working effectiveness, and the influence of supervision on employees’ working effectiveness in the office of PT. PLN (Persero) for South-Southeast-West Sulawesi Regions at Secretariat Section for City of Makassar. The focus of the research used Sondang P. Siagian’s theory (namely, direct and indirect supervision) and Hasibuan’s theory (namely, working quantity, working quality, time management and the quality improvement of human resources). The type of this research was quantitative research. Techniques of data collection in this study were literature reviews and field study consisting of observation and questionnaire. The results indicated that the employees’ working effectiveness in the office of PT. PLN (Persero) for South-Southeast-West Sulawesi Regions at Secretariat Section for City of Makassar had not been effective yet. This happened because there were still many employees who were late to go to the office and not careful in carrying out their work. Based on the results of the determination test (R2), it can be concluded that the influence of the supervision on employees’ working effectiveness is 61.3%.Keywords: Influence, Supervision, Effectiveness Of Employee WorkABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif pengawasan, seberapa efektif efektivitas kerja pegawai dan seberapa efektif pengaruh pengawasan terhadap efektivitas kerja pegawai di kantor PT PLN (Persero) Wilayah Sulselrabar Bagian Sekretariat Kota Makassar. Fokus penelitian menggunakan konsep atau teori oleh Sondang P. Siagian yaitu, pengawasan langsung dan pengawasan tidak langsung dan teori Hasibuan yaitu, kuantitas kerja, kualitas kerja, pemanfaatan waktu, dan peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti ialah penelitian Kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian keperpustakaan dan studi ke lapangan yang terdiri dari observasi dan angket/kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas kerja pegawai di kantor PT PLN (Persero) Wilayah Sulselbar Bagian Sekretariat Kota Makassar belum efektif. Hal tersebut terjadi karena masih banyak pegawai yang terlambat ke kantor dan masih ada pegawai yang kurang teliti dalam melaksanakan pekerjaannya. Berdasarkan hasil uji determinasi ( ) dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh variabel pengawasan terhadap variabel efektivitas kerja pegawai sebesar 61,3%.Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Pengawasan, Efektivitas Kerja Pegawai
