Abstract

Abstrak. Mengantisipasi kerusakan bangunan akibat gaya gempa, banyak model konstruksi bangunan yang terus dikembangkan dan diteliti hingga sekarang, salah satunya struktur bangunan rangka baja berpengaku eksentrik yang menggunakan elemen link sebagai bagian elemen struktur yang berfungsi untuk menyerap energi gempa. Kegagalan pada link panjang yang lebih dominan disebabkan oleh momen menyebabkan terjadinya kegagalan yang lebih awal akibat fraktur dan tekuk pada zona di ujung – ujung link terutama pada sayap. Untuk mengatasi kegagalan awal yang lebih cepat, maka dilakukan inovasi dengan menambah pengaku sayap pada tepi link. Penambahan pelat pengaku sayap tepi pada link panjang mempunyai beberapa keuntungan diantaranya; kemudahan dalam pengerjaan dan pengelasan yang minimal sehingga mengurangi pengaruh tegangan sisa akibat proses pengelasan. Penelitian ini mengkaji secara numerik dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak MSC Nastran/Patran terhadap kinerja link panjang untuk beberapa variasi model link yang dianalisis. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi variasi yaitu: panjang link, penambahan pelat sayap tepi beserta konfigurasi pemodelannya, tebal pelat dan kombinasi dengan pengaku badan vertikal. Hasil analisis pada model modifikasi penambahan pelat pengaku tepi dapat meningkatkan kinerja link panjang dibandingkan dengan model link standar pada variabel : daktilitas, kekuatan, disipasi energi dan kekakuan.Abstract. Conducting research in anticipating earthquake damage at building has been developed continuosly. One of it is Eccentrically Braced Frame (EBF) for steel frame. EBF uses link element to absorb earthquake energy. Failure at long type link dominantly is caused by moment which make early failure because of fracture and buckling at the end of link such as in its flange. To tackle the early failure, stiffener at the end of the link has been added. The advantages of it are making easy of workmanship and minimizing the welding effort which can reduce residual stress because of welding process. This study does numerical study by using MSC Nastran/Patran program to measure the performance of long type link for several analysis types. Several parameters have been analyzed such as the length of the link, the edge addition of flange plate with its modeling configuration, the width of the plate, and the combination with vertical body stiffener. This study found that the addition of stiffener at the end of the link has increased the performance of long type link. Finally, the findings of this study are compared with that of standard link model. The variables that are compared between both of long type link and standard link are ductility, strength, energy dissipation and stiffness.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini menfokuskan kajian secara eksperimental terhadap besaran dan distribusi tegangan sisa yang dihasilkan dari proses pengelasan di dan sekitar daerah k dari elemen link. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan Metode Difraksi Neutron menggunakan alat Difraktometer Neutron DN1-M PSTBM BATAN. Sebanyak 15 titik dengan 45 arah pengukuran dilakukan di daerah k dalam arah normal, transversal maupun longitudinal. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan besaran tegangan sisa tarik sebesar 185 Mpa dan 160 Mpa dalam arah longitudinal dan transversal searah weld toe pengelasan antara badan dan sayap dengan luasan daerah tarik 8 kali dari tebal flange. Untuk pengelasan tegak lurus weld toe diperoleh tegangan sisa tarik sebesar 162 Mpa dan 145 Mpa dalam arah longitudinal dan transversal dengan luas daerah tarik 4 kali dari tebal flange. Besarnya tegangan sisa tarik dan lebarnya daerah tarik mengindikasi daerah k merupakan daerah rawan terjadinya awal dari crack yang dapat menurunkan kinerja dari link. Membuat gap pengelasan antara pengaku dengan flange selebar 4 s/d 5 kali tebal flange dapat meningkatkan kinerja dari link karena dapat meminimalkan besaran dan distribusi tegangan sisa tarik. Abstract. This research focused on the experimental study on the residual stress magnitude and distribution resulted from the welding process in and around the k area of the link element. The measurement was done with the Neutron Diffraction Method using the Neutron Diffractometer DN1-M PSTBM BATAN. A number of 15 points with 45 measurement directions were conducted on the k area in normal, transversal and longitudinal directions. The result of the experiment showed 185 Mpa and 160 Mpa residual stress magnitude in longitudinal and transversal directions in the same directions with the weld toe welding between the web and flange with the extent of the stress area 8 times of the flange thickness. The perpendicular welding of the weld toe resulted in 162 Mpa and 145 Mpa residual stresses in longitudinal and transversal directions with 4 times stress area extent from the flange thickness. The residual stress magnitude and the width of stress area indicated the k area as a vulnerable area to the initial crack occurrence, which may decrease the link performance. Making a welding gap 4 to 5 times of the flange thickness between the stiffeners and the flange may increase the link performance because it may minimize the residual stress magnitude and distribution.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe any cohesion to achieve coherence and the intrinsic elements of a short story titled "Untuk Ibu" (For Mother) by Kusuma Wijayanti on Annida magazine. Discourse analysis is done through the micro structural and the practice of discourse approach. The results of the discourse analysis of the short story titled "Untuk Ibu" meet all the other good grammatical aspects of cohesion as well as lexical aspect. The presences of grammatical and lexical cohesion build up the short story into a cohesive and coherent. From grammatical aspect, the short story has person references, comparative and demonstrative reference, substitution of clausal, ellipsis, causal conjunction, and conjunctions of time addition/additives.  While from the lexical aspect, it has reps anaphora and reps tautotes, synonyms of words and phrases with free morpheme synonym bound, antonyms type compound and opposition relations, collocation, hyponymy, and equivalency. The results of the analysis of the practice of discourse show that short story "Untuk Ibu" has the main theme of patience and compassion of a mother on her daughter. The main character is the mother and Ayu, some others characters are Mas Danu, Yu Yu, Supi, Mar, Parto Sopa and Lik Darmi. Plot is a mix that began with the exposure of problems in the form of regret the “I” (aku) figure against the behavior of naughty in opposition to the mother and then continued with the depiction of a cause of regret, and then ends with a meeting among the figures I (Ayu) and mother (advanced/progressive grooves). The background of the story majority happened at home (Madiun). In addition, this story has the first-person perspective I or Ayu and occurs in Javanese.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the effectiveness of concept map to organize ideas in writing exposition text. This research was conducted in one senior high school in Purwokerto in academic year 2018/2019. The population was all the eleventh grade students in that school. Researcher used two classes as control group and experimental group. This research used quasi experimental research which was done in November 2019. The instrument of collecting data was tested. The test was done twice which called pre-test and post-test. The type of the test was writing test. T-test formula was used to analyze the data. Based on the computation, t-test result was 3.535 and the t-table was 1.677 at significant level 0.05 with the degree of freedom 48. It showed that t-result was higher than t-table. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that concept map was effective to organize ideas in writing exposition text.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the writing strategy of the second semester students of University Muhammadiyah of Purwokerto in the academic year 2015/2016. The method was qualitative descriptive. There were 57 students of the second semester  students as the subject of the research. However, the data collection was collected through questionaire. The result was likely about the percentage from the questionaire. In preparation step, 49% respondents admitted that they use cognitive strategy, they looked for the information they wanted to write and also collected some vocabularies before writing. In the second item, there were 60% respondents who have social strategy. Therefore, if they have problem in their writing, they will ask their friends. Cognitive strategy is also used by 67% respondents, it happened when the students said that grammar was the part from their writing in which it was the most often to be corrected. Moreover, cognitive strategy again was used by 84% and 54% when they did not know about grammar and word from their writing, they would open grammar book and dictionary. The last, there were 46% respondents had cognitive and social strategy, that was about to use internet or social media as the additional source outside class.    Keywords: writing strategy, cognitive, metacognitive, social

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to discover the level of EFL students’ perception of online game Mobile Legends in their vocabulary development. The researcher used questionnaire and interview as the instrument to collect the data and took 20 respondents for the questionnaire and 5 interviewees that are taken from 8th semester students of English Education Department on 2018/2019 academic year in Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. This study got a positive result with 74%, therefore can be categorized as positive perception. Moreover, it was supported by the interview result where the interviewees agreed that their vocabulary knowledge is expanding when playing Mobile Legends.

Abstract

This research is taken by sample of Banjir kanal Timur. It is conducted by research in order to know the effect of fluctuations in salinity on nitrification, in this research, separating ammonium is conducted by  giving variations of salinity content which is different on each bacteria and reactor. It would be returned to the source of orifice, that is 0,5% of the result. In high salinity, bacteria cannot degrade  ammonium fast, but it can be fast if when it is returned to the source salinity, so by that experiment, we can say characteristic of salinity toxic is temporary in process separating ammonium. In even 0%-3% salinity, bacteria can degrade ammonium well so bacteri which is taken of banjir kanal Timur can be applied to recycle waste which has 0%-3% salinity fluctuation.

Abstract

Note from the Editor The Indonesian archipelago is one of the most active tectonic zones in the world. Therefore to design an important (and dangerous) structure such as a nuclear power plan knowledge of the seismicity of the site is very important. This could be achieved by doing a site-specific seismic hazard analysis. A site-specific seismic hazard analysis is required in the design state in order to determine the recommended seismic design criteria of the structure. Abstract

This paper presents a site-specific seismic hazard study to determine the recommended seismic design criteria for Suramadu Bridge. The study is performed using probabilistic seismic hazard approach to determine maximum acceleration and response spectra at bedrock and followed by local site effect analysis to determine maximum acceleration and response spectra at ground surface. The probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) is carried out using 3-dimension (3-D) seismic source models (fault source model). Two hazard levels are analysed to represent 150 and 3,300 years return period of ground motion around site location. The local site effect analysis is performed using 1-dimension (1-D) shear wave propagation theory to obtain peak ground acceleration and response spectra at ground surface. Finally, the site-specific surface response spectra with 5 percent damping are developed based on the mean plus one standard deviation concept from the result of local site effect analysis.
